I think Adelman should be the one to go.

I agree but its just the fact on how they moved on which is puzzling. Yeah last year was a horrible year but seeing how dedicated the guy was into coming back after a serious surgery should have showed the front office something

Are we talking about McGrady being valuable for his expiring deal or are we talking about teams actually valuing McGrady and offering value in return. Again those are very different.

I thought McGrady still had alot of game left? If so, he should be more valuable than just an expiring deal.

BTW Cleveland is allowed to exceed the cap to pay LeBron so McGrady wouldn't help them at all salary wise.

I think we both know that McGrady's value is as an expiring deal.

You seem to have done enough scouting to think he is still better than half of the team.

We should just be glad the person who started this thread isn't in Les Alexander's seat, and doesn't have power over any personnel decisions. If he did, the team would truly suck.

Are you kidding me? Well as I can see, your favorite players consist of Francis and Wafer.

Rick Adelman is probably the top 3 coaches in the Nba right now. The other two that are maybe better than him is Phil Jackson and Greg Pops. But other than that, the Rockets have a great coach. Without Rick, the Rockets wouldn't even be this good. A team full of role players like we have now, do you think Mike Brown, the head coach from the Cleveland Cavs can do the same or better?

Rick Adelman is probably the best coach the Rockets ever had. His motion offense is great. He will play someone who can contribute and help the team win games.

I can't believe some of you guys would even think such a thing. That Rick is a terrible coach and he drives away good players. Great players want to play for Rick. Steve Francis came back to the Rockets out of shape and was not able to get back in shape.

Von Wafer was such a selfish player that he needed the boot. Plus, Von is an idiotic player. Rick didn't drive him off. He was stupid enough to leave Houston in the first place. We offered him a reasonable contract but he wanted more money. He only played one decent season and he demanded big bucks from everyone. That guy is just straight up selfish. I am glad he failed his physical and we signed Mike Harris instead.

I still don't get something, and no one has explained it to me yet, maybe you can.

Adelman tells T-Mac and the world that he will play limited minutes until after January 1st, this was common knowledge.

Then, T-Mac gets mad about playing limited minutes, only a few games left to reach January first, and he goes home while the team is one the road.

So, why didn't he just wait it out until the first? Was he putting the team first in that situation? Doesn't look like it to me, and I don't want a player like that on this team.

The guy was a cancer. The rest of the team disliked or hated him. He wasn't going to contribute no matter what.

I can't agree with you, but I still miss JVG. I really think we should have kept him, but he admitted it was his fault that he told the Rockets it was cool to go talking to other coaches.

I don't share the same sentiments. JVG wouldn't have gotten this group of players to play at their current level offensively

So your saying Rick doesn't get along with any of his players and that he is not a players coach? You have to do a little better than that with that example of Steve.

I bet if you asked the majority of the players that has played for Rick they will tell you that he is a great coach and would play for him anytime of day.

I know your a TMAC fan and so am I but look at it both ways, TMAC does not want to change for the better of the Team. It's all about him now.

Why not? I think he would have figured out a way to win. Maybe not be at the level offensively as you speak, but he'd find a way for them to win.

(disclaimer for below: I had to look up his history)
While a NYN coach, looks like Ewing was out a lot, they had some decent players, but who would you consider star quality? I don't know, perhaps my memory is fuzzy, but Allan Houston was the only other guy out there. Spree, maybe LJ?

His team was in the conf finals or finals every season except the last one.

I believe JVG would be able to get comparable output from Brooks, Landry, Scola, and the likes as RA is right now. Just a difference of opinion I guess.

I voted. This thread is terrible.

Tracy McGrady never tried to fit into the Adelman offense (which is his job to do that) and Tracy sucked on defense. I can't wait to see what we get in return!

If Wafer was truly driven away by RA, some other team would have picked him up. As history has it, not even the crappy Euro teams wanted anything to do with him in the end and now after wasting a million bucks to buyout his contract, he was dumb enough to fail his physical and is now currently unemployed. Very smart individual indeed!
