So would you not agree that Rick Adelman was the person that ran Von Wafer out of Houston? He has one arguement with the guy then all of a sudden his minutes decrease and then we dont re-sign him. Then after you have some injuries you seek him out to re-sign. He should have been one of the first guys that we sought out in the off season. It seems as though when you upset Rick he doesnt seperate his personal from business. Becasue you cant tell me that you believe all this BS about we dont know if we can work him back into the type of style we are playing right now. Thats BS. Firts off all because even Stevie Wonder can see that he is a better fit at the 2 than Ariza. Secondly, when Yao went down last season and we went on the game streak, Tracy played and Adelmans offense was the same then as it now. Bottom line is that you cant change history or make excuses for it. And the fact of the matter is that any player that has ever had a difference of opinion with Rick, ends up out the door.
Look, your boy Mac isn't even playing for the Rockets really at this point. Can you just kindly move on and start posting your nonsense on whatever board you feel supports a team that will make McGrady a star again? It ain't happening here and you just look/sound like someone we don't need around here.
Tracy quit in Orlando - he admitted it. He quit in the GS game playing for JVG and got benched for 2 games. And he quit in Toronto last year - he stood at center court and passed the ball around. Now.....all that is left is for the T-groupies to quit this BBS and follow Captain quits-a-lot to his next destination. DD
I wouldn't agree with that at all. Player personnel decisions are as much Morey's as Adelman's, if not moreso. The coach does not meet with the players and their agents to negotiate a contract, the GM does. Von couldn't get himself a job with any other NBA team for the same reason as he could not re-sign with the Rockets. Money. Now Von may even be on the cusp of returning to play for the same coach/GM/owner/team that allegedly ran him out of town. GTFO with this kind of poor-ass logic.
it's really not fair to call out anyone who believed in McGrady as a Rocket. most fans in this category, like myself, simply wanted our team to be at its best potential. if someone were to label me a groupie, or a TMac nuthugger, etc, it would be an inaccurate description of a fan who supports his team. most Mac fans were simply Rockets fans before he got to Houston. there's no reason to be mad at these fans either. we put up with a lot of negativity, here especially, but we really want our team to win because we are connected on an emotional level. whether some of you like it or not, T-Mac won over some fans during his tenure here and some fans don't take everything that went down as a dramatic exit on his behalf. they just see it as injuries being a part of basketball. injuries take players out of the game, not the players themselves. how players handle themselves is another thing, and Tracy didn't handle himself properly. that's easy to concede. i hope our team is better with the next trade. i was always hesitant this season to move a piece of the team that has made it so successful over the last two or three seasons. Yes, I want to make the 2nd Round again. Yes, T-Mac was a hindrance to reaching that goal. Could we reach that goal with the exact lineup we have now? It's hard to tell. will trading T-Mac and another package bring us the piece we need? I hope so...
Tmac is going to go to another team and probably drop 30+ points if we ever play them and if he does do that then the Rockets will probably lose that game and everyone is going to say we should have kept him.
Well then we are not talking about those fans.......it is the ones that only care about Tmac and not the team. Those are the T-Groupies. DD
LOL, yes Daryl has to make the decision as well, however, please believe that he is not going to sign a player that Rick would prefer not to have on his roster. And as far as bringing him back, well yeah if your back is against the wall cause you have injured players and you have to make a move then yeah i think he bites the bullet and says lets try to get him back. By the way money was not an issue with Von, we never even extended an offer when we had less plyers on the roster during the off-season. If I am Daryl, I have to make a decision, do I please my coach or a player like Von or Tracy. now dont get it twisted, if I am Daryl, I would choose Rick as well becasue his track record as a coach speaks for itself and anyone that questions his ability as a coach is flat out r****ded. I am simply saying that as a coach in the past he seems to make certain decisions based on personal relationships and how he feels about someone, rather than putting personal feelings aside. Becasue again all the crap that he feeds us about Tracy is BS, Id rather him just say he doesnt like the guy and its time for him to move on.
Probably more than half the board wants Ariza gone and he lit up the scoreboard a few weeks ago and I am sure he will again in the future here and there. I doubt the Lakers care. Tracy has a long road ahead before he scores 30 in a game again, but just like Ariza every squirrel finds a nut now and again.
I think your hate for Tmac has really clouded your judgement about this whole situation. If the Rockets can't make a good trade, have to buy out Tmac, and Tmac goes on to elite status, I get the feeling that you will still think that the Rockets made the right decision. That's how clouded your judgement is, because I bet you won't agree with this post.
He did have around 10 points in 7 minutes in one game this season, imagine had he played another 7 minutes or even more.
who are they, then? you are projecting your own hate of T-Mac onto the team's own fans, and painting fans unfairly in a corner. like i said, when I read somewhat childish name-calling over a basketball conversation, i know I certainly get defensive over wanting to support the team. it has gone to an emotional level with the inaccurate labeling of certain fans. it started with the Yao Only phenomenon and it has continued with TMac. It's the number one thing that brings down the integrity of this message board community.
Don't take this the wrong way, but how much experience do you have with coaching players coming back from microfracture surgery, or coaching players that haven't played the game in about 6 months and coming back from a VERY serious surgery? Adelman has seen this before, he is playing it safe. He said is he wouldn't increase T-Mac's minutes before the end of the year, T-Mac couldn't wait another week? Seriously? That's not being a team player at all. Why would the Rockets buyout T-Mac's salary when they get paid when he doesn't play? And, returning to elite status? His numbers have been declining ever since he left Orlando, not to mention he is 30, coming off of major surgery with injury problems just about every year. Do you really think he is going to return to "elite" status? IMO, that time in his career is long gone. Have you watched him play, did you watch him play the game after that?
Why would any real Rockets fan want to dump Rick (a proven winner as a coach) for T-Mac (a proven loser)?
I am not going to name them, they know who they are....several have said they only support Tmac... I understand the Rox fans who think he might have helped the team, they are entitled to their opinion.....everyone is.... Whatever....I really don't care anymore, I am just happy the team has made a decision, that is better for everyone, agreed? DD
