Rocket can't do without Rafer Alston, it has been proved in past seasons.

Alston have its advantage that you cannot see it until he is injured.

    I support you!

    Rafer Alston,

Just be more stable and keep running

Alston is a good player, he deserved the starting.

Brooks is also ok, but he is too short when facing tall guys in defence

another bashing of a rockets player? 3 GAMES AND YOU WANT RAFER OUT? 3 GAMES!!!!!!! Calm down and let the season play out. Its obvious that rafer is having trouble finding a new role being the 4th/5th option..... but he'll figure it out and play well..... lock this thread please

3 games? I have wanted him out for 3 years.......I can not stand watching a PG that has no ability to set up his teamates, shies away from contact going to the basket, and thinks he is a good enough shooter to take the 3rd most shots on the team (at least the last couple of years)...having the team's fate rest upon the shoulders of it's worst player is maddening.

There is a reason other teams leave him wide open.......because he sucks.

If Rafer continues to stink it up whether it is because of injury or bad play you will see more of Alston on the bench in 4th quarter.
I think the Dallas game is sign of things to come, Rafer's 4th quarter min. are going to be far and few between if he keeps playing like this.

On a side note am I the only one really feeling the line up of
Yao, Artest, landry,Brooks and Barry? That line up just strait takes control of games. That line up hangs with others teams starters and strait destroys the other teams bench.

    I notice this too.

Yao's height and Brooks' speed fit well with each other. Moreover, because of Yao's big body, usually, there is no enough space for other rockets to drive to the rim. But, this is not a problem for Brooks.

Yao's paint protection and Artest's perimeter defense are very efficient in the 4th quater for the rockets to shut down the opponents.

Brooks' young age & score ability and Barry's experience & playmaking.

Landry's Athletic ability & mid-range shooting and Yao's low post ability.

You must be out of your mind. I wouldn't even trade one of Hayes or Landry for Hinrich, much less both of them.

Would you trade Battier? You guys are demanding another starting PG, but good luck getting one if you don't want to trade any of your good assets. Rafer is going to start, and we'll continue to win games partly because of him. Everyone already forgets what he did for us in The Streak and how he was a difference maker between winning and losing in the playoffs. Looks like we're back to Rafer being the GARM whipping boy.

I wouldn't trade anyone. We have everything we need on the roster. And I've been one of Rafer's biggest defenders over the past year. But even I can't defend 20% shooting.

Well, at least he never has five bad shooting games in a row.

    Rafer's numbers through 4 games: 32 minutes, 20.7% FG, 21.1% 3P% for 6 points and 4 assists.

It's worth pointing out again though that Rafer is actually a good shooter, he's just in a career-long slump right now.

What is taking Francis so long!?

    AB0 for starting PG
    SF3 for backup
    Rafer for cheerleader

As much as Brooks is outplaying Alston right now, I still think he's more suited to the bench for now.

And note that Alston is actually shooting a lot less this year. And Rafer shooting less results in him being more valuable to the team. His # of shots is inversely proportional to how good he is.

The only thing Rafer had over AB was his defense, too bad that hasn't showed up so far either cause Rondo was owning him.
The offense with Brooks just runs so much better, his speed alone just causes soo many problems as no one can keep up with him. I dont know whats gotten into him but hes finally living up to what we though he could be and maybe better. His turnovers have went down, he's making better decisions, MAKING lay-ups and 3s also helps.
