Right now at least ahead of Westbrook and Durant. Westbrook has much less efficient numbers and James is 3 assists a game more and his numbers are historic. Durant has his numbers lessened bc of golden state. Davis has good numbers too but his team has 2 wins.

It seems like half the league is balling out of control to start the season.

    Harden
    Paul
    Leonard
    James
    Wall
    Curry
    Durant
    Lillard
    McCollum
    Towns
    Wiggins
    LaVine
    DeRozan
    Davis
    Barnes
    Gay
    Cousins
    Hill
    Walker
    Whiteside
    Conley
    Thomas
    Bradley
    Antetokoumpo
    Embiid

All having fantastic starts to the year, plus many others. Crazy numbers being put up.

If we're taking record into account, then you'd have to put these guys in the top 3: Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard and Lebron James. Sorry Warriors, but having Curry & Durant on the same team and you going to have a hard time convincing me either one is most valuable. If you don't take record into account then you cannot argue against Westbrook or Harden right now. Take those guys off the team and they are utter crap + both are playing at historical levels. OKC winning and his near triple-double averages in the last 5 games and I get why Westbrook is #1. The rest, I have a hard time figuring out..

Are you kidding me? He is ahead of Paul, Durant, LBJ and at worst on equal footing with Westbrook. Paul is not even the reason why the Clippers are good.It is the return of Griffin to superstar status. He has lost weight and looks like the athletic freak show he was a few years back. He is the driving force. Right now Lbj has KI who is balling along with a loaded squad. Durant? you must be kidding me.

Maybe that just means that the NBA is getting faster-paced, focus is now on offense rather than defense

It was a simple question. No need to be a jerk about it.

Harden has to string together at least 3 seasons of true MVP like performances to be in the conversation of the greatests ever IMHO.

And take the team to several Finals in the postseason.

    Lebrawn like.

Winning MVP doesn't actually mean that much, mainly because there is too many wrong winners in history.

    For example:

    Player A: 29.8 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.7 SPG, 3.3 BPG, .577 TS%, 30.7 PER, .296 WS/48, 55 wins
    Player B: 27.3 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.6 SPG, 3.7 BPG, .565 TS%, 25.3 PER, .210 WS/48, 58 wins

Player B somehow won because his team won 3 more games even though he produced less and was worse on both offense and defense.

There is no way Harden is ever winning while CP3 or Durant have all time great seasons on 65+ wins team.

I'm almost sure that Westbrook has the highest PER of all time right now. The top 2 seasons are from Wilt Chamberlin.

Wonder if we'll get another monster game from Harden tonight. Been a while since he dropped 40. He was on pace to do it against the Hawks, Sixers & Jazz but dropped off in the 2nd half.

A warrior will unfairly get the MVP yet again.

I doubt it. Steph and Durant will cancel each other out.

How do you decide between the 2 anyway?

I don't know but the media loves them some warriors especially Curry so it won't be surprising if one of them wins it

PPG are on the rise. Currently, it's 103.7 ppg, which is a full point over last year. This number may go down towards the end of the season but who knows. It's definitely fun to watch.

People tend to get upset over frivolous awards. Man bump that, NBA championship and bleep the rest.
