Basically if you want to win the MVP your team must have a top 2 seed 3 at worst. I looked at last 20 years I think karl malone was only MVP winner to have a 3 seed.
Kinda dumb, I mean you take any MVP and put them on the 76ers and no way they get top 2-3 seed (excluding MJ and Hakeem).
My comment was related but not directed towards the previous poster at all. I just think whoever made that decision was not being fair. Seriously, who the heck picks player of the week?
This guy (Matt Moore) places Harden a close 2nd, actually tied with Westbrook but both behind LeBron. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/l...headline211102016&ET_CID=14889&ET_RID=9559012
You swear if Harden is not MVP....... Then it means we didn't win enough games. Even before yesterday why would Westbrook not be more deserving. His team was tied for number 1 in the West. And his stats were also ridiculous. Cuz his team has better players? Curry had the best team past two years but he still won it. Nash had Amare and Marion when he won it. Hardens my man. Favorite player, wouldn't rather have anyone else. But let's just appreciate how great he is and how our team looks better than last year rather than cry about awards and media hate.
Because: 1. Westbrook takes over 7 more shots a game, averages like one point more a game thus far. Chronic chucker. 2. Westbrook is shooting 42% from the Field. Harden 49%. 3. Westbrook Chucks up over 7 threes a game at horrible efficiency. Harden looks set to have his best year from 3. 40% plus. 4. Harden is averaging 13 assists a game on less usage than westbrick, with a far better assist to turnover ratio. 5. OKC is not a very good team, there's no way they will keep this up. (IMO). Our style may well hold up over a season.
Westbrook will average close to tripble double and 30 points a game. The guy with the better record is going to win the MVP. Harden is going to get the MVP over Westbrook because the Rockets will have a better record and Harden will shoot 50% FG versus 40% FG for Westbrook
Chris Paul has been playing so much better than Westbrook. he may not have the numbers, but the Clippers have been on a role and it's cause of CP3. he's killing it this season. best I've seen from him in a while.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but here you go First MVP ladder of the season: Spoiler: 1-10 Westbrook (OKC) Harden (HOU) LeBron (CLE) Griffin (LAC) Durant (GSW) Leonard (SAS) Curry (GSW) DeRozan (TOR) Walker (CHA) Lillard (POR) http://www.nba.com/article/2016/11/11/mvp-ladder-week-1-2016-17-russell-westbrook-leads-way-begin
i swear if brewer is starting next game and if he gets more minutes than kj and dekker, ima buy tickets and run up to him and say "what. is. yo. secret?"
Hey hey, don't shoot the messenger, this was taken from NBA.com. Agree with you, that Westbrook's stats are inferior to Harden's. Guess they factored in team record as well, as they usually do with the MVP race. I totally agree that Harden has been balling out of his mind. Just wanted to post this, as I hadn't seen in posted anywhere on the board.
