Just scraped in last season, and his first season with the Rockets. But yeah, if we win 50, and he plays average defense, has to be MVP if he keeps this up.
lol the adorable **PN yet again put Harden at adorable #8 in its adorable #NBArank http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/nbarank8_2016/nbarank-8-houston-rockets-guard-james-harden
Nah man, Harden is only playing well because his team is playing well. He won't lead them anywhere. First round loss at best. JJ Watt on the other hand, is a true MVP, that man puts the team on his back and leads them to victory. Easily the best player in an actual sport.
How can you beg for Harden to get MVP when were not even a good team before Corey Brewer became our starting PG?
This is the most asisnine **** in the history of rankings. GTFO and go F*CK yourself PSBN. I may never watch that channel or give them a click again. Okay, I'm calm again everyone.
Even though Harden is playing on another planet, it's way too early to talk about who's the MVP. Westbrook, Leonard, and Lillard are all putting up some insane numbers as well.
Different era now. Look around. There's other MVP candidates. Chris Paul is playing at a crazy level also and his team is playing at a pace early on that rivals the 2015 Warriors in terms of margin of victory. Kawhi Leonard is another candidate who will surely get as much of consideration as Harden. Same goes for Westbrook. That's not even mentioning guys like LeBron who are usually always in the hunt too. As crazy as Harden's stats might be, they look at winning too and weigh it heavily. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. So he'll probably need 50 wins at the very least. I'm definitely not saying it's empty stats. But they aren't just going to give him the MVP if he doesn't have the wins to go with it. There's too many other great candidates. It's still early in the season, not even a full month in yet. We'll see how it plays out come March/April. I'm willing to bet though that based on the last 10-15 years of how they voted on this thing, the wins will matter just as much as the stats.
You know James Harden is insanely good when ESPN ranks him in the top 10 and we complain that it is way too low. Rightfully so too. Anyone that has spent any time watching our offense the past couple of years with Harden vs without him knows that he transforms our team. This year looks to be even more than in the past.
There's no way that Harden would average 25ppg much less 20 assists in GSW. LMAO He would have to play MUCH MUCH more off the ball, have less minutes and take less shots. And a lot of teams are **** if you take their only top 10 player off. That's not enough to be MVP. You also have to make your team have at least a homecourt advantage as well.
Westbrook is clear MVP-frontrunner right now. When a team is losing a superstar caliber player... they suck immediately Lakers and Shaq Cavs and LeBron Heat and LeBron' Magic and Dwight etc They are legit without KD (despite the weak schedule, they've beaten the Clippers, clearly the best team in the league at the moment). There is no way for Harden right now to win it until chOKC loses a pack of games and the Rockets would be even with the Thunder on record standpoint
Well Harden is putting up rare numbers. If he leads the league in scoring and assists, he has a shot. No question.
Normally, I never watch first take. However I heard Harden would be talked about and I was ready to hear Steven A and company eat Crow. It is amazing... that a man can still hold his position the way James is playing right now. "Oh it's the system.. they average more possessions so he'll get more opportunities to add on to his numbers... he's not the best player so far this season..." Um.... so how is this at all any different than Curry two years ago when Steven A could not stop talking about how he was Gods gift to this world and on another level. So Curry's system had nothing to do with it? Oh and unlike Curry, Harden actually "plays" the point guard position... seeing as he's averaging 12+ assists a game, finding his opponents in the right spot. This just amazes me.... even though it shouldn't coming from first take.
What you just said is the truth and the numbers back it up. That's why iv thought harden and Lebron are with a doubt in my mind the two best players in the NBA. They manipulate the other teams do do anything they want them to do. It's crazy. There playing checkers while all the other teams are stressed out trying to play chess. Harden is an All time player you don't do what he is doing just from some system. Unfortunately it's going to take at least a finals berth this year if not winning the whole damn thing for media and fans to catch on.
It seems like after every game there are notifications saying "James Harden is the first NBA player to (insert accomplishment here). It's incredible.
