Sounds interesting, I recall seeing a documentary or "how they do that" show regarding someone using this technique in the movie "dragonheart." They used it to make the dragon, who's voice actor was Sean Connery. They filmed his mouth while he spoke, then plotted the points of his expressions, and converted them to the digital 3d dragon mesh, and voila, he not only sounded like Sir 007, but he kinda looked like him when he spoke as well. It was interesting, though no accounting for my translating that quality.

In any case, it really sounds interesting, DD. Good luck, and hopefully the backburner will be cookin' up front again for you soon.

Early retirement isn't what its all cracked up to be. More times than not, its kinda boring. Friends are at work, wife and kids are gone , the only thing left is to hang with mom and pops, watch hoop and scout hoops, football, video games, cpu and I guess fish, fix things around the house and stuff like that. I've actually been driving the big rig just to break the boredom and have started writing a couple of books. I use to think retiring at 35 would be cool, but 3 yrs later, its kinda boring. I was thinking of taking this scouting job offered to me, but I don't want to be away from the family that much with a 3 and 7 yr old. DD had a great gig at the house, but there a reason he had 50k post :D

Good luck DD. Hope the new gig works out for you and that you enjoy it. Sound like you'll get to work on some cool stuff. Also glad to get to stay in Austin.

When you say post a lot less, are we talking about down to 100 posts a day? We're trying to set some benchmarks for you here. :p

I have to work so my posting will be sporadic....no guarantees though....

    :D

Thanks to everyone, it is a very cool gig, with a lot of upside.....the company is probably going to be acquired in the next year or two, so getting in now is a good thing.

    :D
