I say Carlisle should now be our first choice with Brown a close second!

It's a messed up situation for Carlisle, but hey, if he wants to come, i'm all for it. He's only going to get better as a head coach. (and hopefully he can bring Ben Wallace to the rockets)

Haven't y'all been reading articles or watching ESPN? The notion that the only reason Carlisle was fired was because of Larry Brown's availability may not be exactly true. There's been reports of strong disagreements between Carlisle and Dumars and Pistons upper management in general. I don't think it's a given that Carlisle would have stayed with the team if Brown wasn't available. Just look at the 49ers firing of Mariucci. They certainly didn't do that because another candidate came available. If this is true, should it raise any red flags concerning Carlisle?

    DCKid,

After reading all the articles yesterday, I kind of changed my tune with regards to the Carlisle firing. I tend to agree now with what you said.

It appears that Carlisle was a bit of a hard ass with Dumars and management and perhaps, resisted their input or was too aloof with them. I guess, in the end, you can be a great coach, but if you are an a-hole with your boss, then losing your job should not be suprising.

Therefore, we have to consider the fact that he may be abrasive with our management too. Not sure if his personality would mesh with Les and CD.
