haha...Let me take this one y'all. I haven't been around much for 2 years. This is good for my finger exercises.

bullsh!t. Sloan is the dirtiest coach ever. That's not effort you are seeing out there. That's the players trying to please a dictator who teaches them to cheat and demands them to do it. Just imagine Stern as a coach. He basically broke down Kirelenko to a crying, shriveling shell of a man, just to show the other players on the team what not to be. While that was fun to watch, Kirelenko turned into the grandest flopper of all time, to win him back over. And that was NOT fun to watch.

This part is the worst of your comment. I'm from Illinois. I stopped watching college bball back in the 80's, but restarted watching it just to see Deron play for UofI.

When Deron got drafted by Utah, I was sick to my stomach. And when Deron let Utah pronounce his name Darrin instead of DeRon (like they wanted to transform him into an all-american astronaut like Darrin on Bewitched to replace their beloved Stockon), and he went public saying that Darrin is indeed the correct way to pronounce his name (which is not true), I think I did puke, and I decided to forsake him entirely at that point.

Question: do you really respect the Jazz, or just Deron. Who else on that team or the coach do you respect? If you intend to respond to my reply, please answer this question.

Saying Deron is your favorite PG in the league reminds me of all the ppl here who said they hate the Jazz but liked Stockton. Y'all just don't get it. Did you like David Robinson and the Spurs, because he was a good soldier. Do you chear for Ginobody, because he represents smart basketball? Screw that. I don't need to root for no Spur. There are plenty of players who don't play for San Antonio and Dallas (our Texas/division rivals) that I can appreciate. I want all the Spurs and all the Mavs to fail.

Sorry, I can't respect the enemy. I want to destroy them.

And since the analogy to compare our lives to the NBA and other sports is so popular around the internets and talk radio..., let me give you this analogy: if I were a really nice guy trying to compete with you for your girlfriend...straight up...with no cheating or ****-blocking (which, I might add, is the total equivalent of flopping), would you respect me?

this is just wrong. They are the absolutely worse franchise in the NBA.

I despise the Spurs, too, but not so much the franchise, as the fans. They are so stupid and have only one sport and so they still, to this day, think David Robinson is better than Hakeem.

But Utah...they are hands down the worst franchise over the coarse of the last 20 yrs.

To end:

Let me tell you a story about Karl Malone when he was at Louisiana Tech. I was a student at Rice University. We had the bench kid who was a walk-on fan favorite who went out to guard Malone. Now understand, no one could guard Malone, much less a walk-on, bench player from Rice. Malone elbowed his face off. He fell to the ground in blood. Malone just walked away from him. The Louisiana Tech coach went out to stop Malone and yelled at him (this is from eye-witness testimony), "You go back there and apologize to that kid and show some concern." That kid, a friend of mine, never played another NCAA game again.

Malone never learned his lesson, because Sloan didn't want him to change. And Sloan changed they franchise to play dirty like him. I never viewed Stockton or Hornachek as dirty players, either, but they damn sure were...just not as big as Malone. Shandon Anderson left Utah for more than just wanting a starting position with the Rockets. He hated playing for Utah.

So, you go ahead and try to tell me I'm being a homey.

good luck with that one.

Besides that, they stole New Orleans name and won't give it back.

Meh...I hate them every time the Rockets play them, but I don't care otherwise. I don't even care if they win or lose unless it affects the Rockets, but I totally can see where OP is coming from. Some of you take things a bit too seriously.

Let me guess...you are very passionate about football, but otherwise don't take the NBA seriously.

It looks like the Rockets season is over. Who's with me that we should make Clutchfans into a Jazz fan site for this season?

You sir, would be incorrect. I watch football mainly because of fantasy football and watch every Rocket game possible + any other basketball game available. I however don't care if another member loves, respects, or cheers for another team. That doesn't affect me, so why would it bother me.

haha. awesome. Your first post!

Did you actually say I was full of it because I decided to forsake one of my favorite college players of all time? Because he let those fans and city change the pronunciation of his name...among other things.

That's like saying I'm full of it because I decide to forsake Katie Holmes for marrying Tom Cruise and putting up with his histrionics.

FREE DERON!

You know, it's not even a Rockets-Jazz old school rivalry thing for me.

It's just so obvious what Sloan does and it sickens me as a fan of basketball.

It's not the players, many of them aren't dirty before they play for Sloan.

Whenever Sloan retires (and as long as they don't hire someone who encourages dirty play) I will rejoice.

I’ll take it part by part
1 Atleast you decided to reply. Appreciated ;)

2 I LOL'd at this. This is almost as bad as babies growing up to still believe santa really exists. He has produced a winning season nearly every single year he's coached. I never liked Karla or John Stockton, those guys were dirty. Great players, but dirty players. This version of the Jazz is completely different in what i've seen.

3 DWill, Millsap, CJ Miles, Big Al etc....very very good, hard working players who produce under the radar and rarely receive accolades

4 What's wrong with liking a hall of fame guard??? I personally disliked him, but he is one of the greatest PG's of all time. Again, whether you and I like it or not.

5 In order to beat your enemy, you must respect them. That is a good team over there whether you like it or not.

6 Lil Wayne has a message for you...
Women lie...men lie...but numbers don't.

Bro, all you have to do is find any of D-Will's college videos on YouTube and you'll see that the announcers pronounce it "Derrin."

Exactly. To the OP: I understand where you are coming from and, in fact, I went through this same phase about 4-5 years ago, thinking that perhaps the Jazz weren't so bad post-Malone after all. Perhaps it was time to respect the consistent system that Sloan has put in place for such a duration.

Unfortunately Sloan went back to his old tricks, especially in those heated playoff series in recent years. If the flop-fest ever went out of fashion post-Malone, it certainly was revived with classless cogs named Kirilenko, Okur, Korver, and Matt "Uber-Douche" Harpring (doing his best Detlef Schrempf routine after every whistle).

I will never respect Sloan's Jazz ever again. Deron is a tremendous player, but there are too many bad seeds in that organization to outweigh any benefits that one player brings. Should Sloan be considered for coach of the year? Sure, whatever, if you care about meaningless awards. But he doesn't deserve a title.
