Deke turning back the time machine and dominating the 4th Quarter of Game 6 punctuated by the finger wag while a fast break was going on on the other side of the floor ...

Anything seemed possible at that moment.

Also, seeing the Rockets destroy the Sixers in Philly and noticing YOF after YOF in Rockets gear patrolling the stands. Great atmosphere -- some of them were really loud!

destroying the suns the first time in phoenix, and the chemistry and character of the team. everyone on the team had a sense of humor, and everyone knew what they had to do to get the job done all season long (well, from january on).

    Great thread.

One of the few that helps make the off season bearable.

I loved this game. All game, we ran the high pick and roll with T-Mac and Yao. Yao sets the pick, dives to the rim, Juwan flashes to the FT line. Defense collapses on Yao, Mac gets the ball to wide-a$$ open Juwan, Juwan drains the open 15 footer.

Rinse, repeat like 10X in a row, Juwan couldn't miss, man that was so beautiful.

Add to that, Mac's toe was hurt before halftime, his return doubtful. Then he comes back out for the 2nd half and torches the Mavs with some ridiculous pull up dagger threes.

That was an awesome game, I gonna wonder most of the summer how things would have worked out if we had J.Howard

If we had J-Ho for this series? We would have won, no doubt in my mind. His rebouding late in the season was phenomenal even for him. He would have helped out on the offensive boards tremendously. At times he would have forced Dallas out of small ball in order to match up with J-ho on the offensive end.

Another reason why the loss isn't as bad because I knew we weren't full strength w/o an important key to our success. When J-Ho is healthy he really does take some pressure off our big two with his mid-range shooting. On top of that with him in the rotation the rest of our guys are fresher.

I followed the Rox all through Hakeem's years, and I don't think I ever enjoyed a regular season more than this one (2nd half, anyway). Too many great moments to mention, so I have to pick the most memorable off court moment.

One of my clients gets me ticketsnow and then that are in the first row right behind the visitor's bench. You notice a lot of stuff from down there. During a Rockets time out at the Clippers game (near end of season) the in-house video was playing some kind of long commercial that had classic cartoons Ñ Tom and Jerry type stuff. My son pokes me in the middle of this and points toward the Rockets bench. There is Van Gundy with the team huddled around him, everyone looking intently as he drew up the next plays. Everyone, that is except for Yao, who was totally into watching the cartoons with this big goofy smile on his face. Cracked me up.

I remember I got home and turn on TV, there's Rockets vs Lakers at the final minute. The score was tight, then Yao made a move and draw a foul, he calmly hit both free throws to edge the laker and won that game. Later I found out that Lakers was pretty depleted and we were leading by a good margin then give way in the fourth quarter allow the Lakers to tight it up. If not for the last two free throws by Yao we would have lose to the injury depleted team and feel like sht.

Memories of my Rockets (and friends on the BBS).......

    The McMiracle

    The Dunk ON Bradley

The Feeling of being up 2-0

The Yao-And 1- Show (behind the back vs. Portland)

The "Fire JVG Thread" that wouldn't go away.

Those of us who were (and still are) Pro JVG

R2K and all his recaps (I would not seen a SINGLE Rockets play if it were not for you R2k.......thanks)

The trades that "didn't make sense" that we came to love (espically the Barry trade, man I love that guy).

Dikembe swating Ben Gordon (whose really the 6th man (so what if I'm biased??)

"Flop, flop. flop....every ------ing time he flops"

    Finally.....

    T-Mac after game 7:

"I'm angry. But I will be back, and I will be a winner"

that was a summary of what he said
