Agreed. Last night was a great win, but let’s face it, the Warriors were still asleep in bed for the entire first quarter, and we had a number of role players outperform their averages. It’s nice to see the team do well without Harden, but that team has a much lower ceiling than one with Harden. Now, if CP3, Tucker, and Faried can all play like this consistently, I guarantee James will share the ball with them. He’s not stupid, and this is exactly what worked so well for them last year. The one thing I will say is that the defense and hustle looked a lot better from the outset, and I really like the Capela-Faried-Tucker frontcourt. I hope that can become a regular starting group.
Let me get this straight, harden has been carrying us all year. His teammates have been ****. They finally step up ONE game where he wasnt here and its HIS fault. This type of logic is astounding. Its one of the dumbest things Ive seen on this board and that says a lot. Chris Paul has barely done anything this year and he has ONE good game but he is now according to this board better than Harden at running the offense lol This is where the media comes to get the ****ed up notions that it runs about Harden and best believe this will be the dumb ass narative they use to take Hardens MVP this year. Straight from this board as usual.
lol so much is made of all the hot takes all the morning shows contrive and just how stupid they are and come to find out they aren’t even necessary. Fans of the team itself are plenty equipped to come up with some of the dumbest **** to say about their team.
Wow, that reaction was as off base as people saying our team is better off without Harden. To say all Harden's teammates have been **** and Paul has had just one good game is just as much a slap in the face of the whole team as the Harden haters are to Harden. If anything we learned that James was able to help us win some games with Clint and Paul out. Maybe in some of those games he needed to score 30 points, and maybe in some by him taking 16 3's and forcing shots we lost. It works both ways. We also learned that our team can beat the best team in the NBA both with and without Harden. It's not all about him, but more about lets do this as a team, get our chemistry back, make some adjustments and start kicking some ass! Go Rockets.
I really hope James is learning from this....... Learning that Tucker can make end of the 3rd quarter bank 3's Faried can cross over people at will and make multiple 3's in a game That EG can execute on all of those drives with floaters That Tucker can drop in 18 points every game. Lots to learn.........
LOL so fans are fake if they have opinions that Harden could do something a little different? That's silly. I love Harden, but hate too much ISO . I also believe what we saw last night was a completely diff style of point guard play. I personally love seeing all our players get more involved. I say mix a blend of both styles for the perfecto combo.
We just need to get back to a better balance between James' ball dominate slo-ball and actually utilizing and keeping the rest of the team engaged and getting some fast break points... and getting everyone healthy will allow for it... that's why the Green/House effect was nice... it allowed our guys to get out and run and be involved - as opposed to just being parked and ball watching... It's all about balance, folks... even though our little Morey jrs like to look at the most 'efficient' method and say "by the numbers this is the best option - so we should just do this all the time.." - regardless of matchup or situation... gotta play the course, folks... everything isnt an either/or option... and not everybody is Robert Horry - who can come in ice cold after not touching the ball for half an hour and drop a dagger corner 3... keep guys involved - while taking full advantage of having the MVP...
Not at all, and I respect and agree with those making the argument that Harden iso-ing too much can detract from his teammates' abilities to perform at their best. But adw was responding to this poster: Does this sound like a reasonable, genuine fan to you? Someone who completely disparages Harden's character with unfair assumptions? I don't think so.
That was not an opinion. That was an ignorant take. It's one thing to post what you just wrote, but that was a hot take troll post whining about Harden not getting anyone else involved, that he cant do more with less and that he cant change. That Warrior game he beasted with less help than CP3 had on the road, had 44 pts *GW 3 over Donkey/Klay) 15 assists and 10 rebounds and played D. The hate for Harden on this board is the dumbest bs I have ever read on here. Again CP3 was amazing last night, but only reason the game even means anything or we have any hope is because Harden got us here to even be having these conversations.
We average 246 passes per game as a team. Last night. 236 Touches per game vs touches last night Harden 90 Paul - 72.8/102 Gordon - 40.6/51 CC - 61.8/40 Tucker - 37.9/39 Faried - 50.3/46 Rivers - 42.6/31 Green - 25.8/26 Nene - 18.6/29 Paul saw an enormous uptick, more than Harden usually gets. Everything looks about season average though other than very minor up or down for a couple guys . Clints touches were way down, but still returning from injury and again Harden utilizes him best. Let’s not perpetuate some myth that all of a sudden that 1 more touch that PJ got compared to season average suddenly gave him the confidence to knock down shots.
yer making far too much sense... this isnt the society we live in right now... everything is about polarizing devisiveness... Pick your side - play it to the extreme... and everybody who has a differing opinion is an idiot whose views have no merit whatsoever... lol... this is the world we live in now...
Defense won that game. That's the only thing Harden needs to think about. (That's not to say that his defense is lacking this year, but pushing for defense by whatever means possible is the trick.)
run the numbers for dribbles or time of possession per player - that would be far more telling... cause my contention is that guys were more involved and moving - and not just parked waiting for a pass... I saw far more examples of guys putting the ball on the floor and moving and trying to create - rather than just being parked... If you dont see the difference between being parked - getting thrown the ball - and immediately shooting it vs actually getting to dribble a little bit, getting comfortable and maybe being able to step into a shot... idk what to tell you... As I mentioned... not everyone is Robert Horry... obviously I was never anywhere near a the level of a professional player... but I always sucked at catch and shoot... but a couple dribbles and stepping into the shot - made all the difference...
I agree that the role players played better than usual, but to say "Everything was breaking right for the Rockets" isn't exactly true. Golden State hit their normal 3's, and as Heypartner pointed out, they are 17-0 this year when hitting that many threes, and shooting them at that 38 percent or better. It wasn't like Golden State was just missing absolutely everything, and we couldn't miss a shot. Our role players played better, and we just stayed with them. They made their normal 3rd quarter run, and we stayed with them. I agree you can't JUST look at the game and say this or that, but it's unfair to say everything bounced the Rockets way.
