Damn, all I can say is thank you. You prevented it from happening even if he did get away just think of hat he couldve of done to that poor girl. Rape is inhumane, what woul drive someone to do that?! Man bro if I was there I wouldve stopped him and enjoyed beating his ass with you and then I wouldve curb checked his ass.
why can't we be searious about this man, you can go back to mybthread post crap about me and I'll own you. But come on have some sympathy.
i forget what class it was (sociology?), but read about a woman who was attacked and screamed for help. dozens of people heard her but did nothing. one person called the police but didn't leave his apartment. several minutes passed with her screaming in pain for help, then silence. turns out, the guy stabbed her, took off after a few strikes, realized nobody was coming to her aid, and went back to finish her off.
What you did was pretty heroic. As sad as it may seem, something known as the Bystander effect does actually exist where people are reluctant to react to such cases. Glad to hear that you defied that with your actions.
I just saw something on TV about this recently. A newspaper wrote a story about the incident and it became a case study on indifference. The neighborhood it happened in was stigmatized. The TV program revisited the story and found out the newspaper article was false. A lot of people actually called the police. The police, however, did not respond in time. I found the case. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitty_Genovese
great job man. good thing he wasn`t armed. i still wonder though, why the girl didn`t want the cops called? maybe she had a warrant on her or something.
This thread is probably one of the best things I've read on the internet in a long time. You rock man. Side note: I hope next time your friends or that girl make a decision to take steps to capture the guy. Some other woman might not be so lucky next time.
You should still file a police report so that the cops are aware that a suspect is out there or they could be looking for this guy and this data point can help them track him down.
It is extremely embarrassing and difficult for women who are victims of rape. They somehow feel they are partially to blame, and they don't want anyone to find out and judge them, even though they are victims. It's sad, but I can imagine that is what she was thinking.
