A bit too bitter for me.

Francis isn't as bad as you make him out to be, nor as great as people who were excited about getting the #2 pick in the draft pretended.

Keep a little perspective. He's never quit on the court, even if he has played the media game too much. He's not the brightest guy, but he's still a net benefit to any team he plays for, I think.

I've wanted him gone for a couple of years not - but I'm not convinced that he's a really bad guy, and I think you're being unfair.

As well as the Rockets nowadays, ignoring the jibe about the move.

Given Francis' change of heart regarding Orlando and Weisbrod's continued posturing, I think it should be clear to just about everyone (I hope) that the delay in the trade had little to do with Francis' reluctance and everything to do with Weisbrod's desire to delay. So, if you were feeling some animosity toward Francis for potentially derailing our opportunity to get McGrady, don't: Weisbrod would have found some other reason to delay.

I forgot about that in light of the whole " NBA-pouts-its-way-out-of-Vancouver"affair after they followed his lead.

Anyway, wasn't he allegedly trying to "pout his way not out of town?" A difference in kind, no?

I know I'm late to the party(How the hell do you guys post from work?), but I really want to chip in.

I noticed your list of "Bad Stevie" incidents...you realize that you could write up a similar rapsheet for pretty much every star in the league, right? Kobe freakin' Bryant is on trial for rape! Charles Barkley threw a guy through a damn window. Tracy Mcgrady eats crow like no other. We're not exactly trading for a boy scout, my friend. Steve, at least, has never quit on his team. Steve doesn't blame his teammates for losses. Mcgrady's play isn't the only thing that is Pippen-esque.

Criticize his play, support the trade(I'm torn, BTW), whatever, but please cut the attacks on Steve's character.

I could not figure it out then and I cannot now; how could what one, immature athlete say about one of the best cities on the planet injure it's inhabitants so severely?

I couldn't have put my thoughts to screen any better. I can't wait for the day that we have a real knuckle head criminal athlete to complain about in this town. Steve is a good player and seems to be a nice guy. All these character attacks are really uncalled. God forbid a guy might actually want to stay in a city.

We've had a couple of knucklehead criminals - Eddie Griffin and to lesser criminal extent Vernon Maxwell and Sam Mack (Mack has a lot of press for the free ride he got as an athlete/criminal.)

The vibe I get from Steve's comments is not so much wanting to stay, but wanting to have it his way.
