I didn't think there was such a thing as a SOF until I read one of the "trade rumor" threads. (I think it was the AI trade) One person said "if Steve goes I go..." He or She could have been joking but I don't think so. I thought it was funny. I'll have to search to find out who it was or they can be nice and say "I". By the way, Rockets Fan. If Yao, Steve or whoever are traded I will still be a Rockets Fan.
Where's the love for Stevie? He's playing some of his best ball of the season right now! I'm a Rox only fan. I was born and raised in Houston and the very first basketball game I saw I barely remember but it was at the Summit against the Lakers and the best player on the Rox was Robert Reid. I'm a Chinese American and I was somewhat hesitant to really embrace Yao I knew he had potential but I was somewhat irate at other Chinese that as a Chinese American I had to like Yao. The first time I saw him play at the Target center I made a point of letting the T-Puppie fans know that I was an old school Rox fan since I had an old red jersey from 1991. I've gotten over that and love Yao as much as any other Rox. With the exception of Dream, Clyde and Elie. Yao has to win a championship first to get into that part of my heart. I will say this though if Yao, Francis, Mobley or any of the other Rox leave during free agency for another team, especially the Lakers, I will gladly boo them.
Today against the hornets i was a cat only fan, aginst the clippers i was a SF3 only fan, against the wolves i was a spoon only fan... basically i am a rox only fan.. but i must confess, i started watching the rox because of yao, and i got in this bbs cause its great. i just realize this is like one big faimly, this site is great cause there lots of drama, how each time we loose the trades threads cums up... the YOFs and its batle with the SOFs even though by this poll shows SOFs is being outnumbered by YOFs 10-1. i am sure enuff rox fans on this site stress level goes witht he flow of this team winning or not...there was a study just out that confirms the correlation between strss and your favorite sports team winning and losing, if you one of those people wanting to rig francis neck when he makes a bonehead plays or if you calling yao a pu$$* when he like 2 feet from a basket and does lay up,, or u drink an extra cold bud and give your old lady a good spankin after the rox whip sum laker a$$ then u know how i feel. i watch lots of sports especially baseball.. and I can tell you folks, that with the exception Yankees, Mariners, and CHicago Bulls, and a couple of soccer teams but us canadians and americans are really into soccer, no other sports club has much love as the rockets, i know of isreali, candians, indians, koreans and obviously americans and chinsese that follow this team with much passion. the rox is obviously a young and sumtimes stupid team...but sumhow i know this team is a team of destiny!!!
I use to watch Rockets games with my father and my brother since I was five-years-old. So yes, I've always been a fan.
Being a Chinese American who followed the Rockets since 1992, I'm certainly hardcore Rockets fan. But I'm not going to deny that I feel biased towards Yao Ming over the rest of the Rockets. The second thing I always look at in a Box Score, after the score, is Yao Ming's stats. And I'd get annoyed sometimes if we win, but Yao has a bad game. It's just impossible to root purely for the team when one's a big fan of a player too. Of course, my parents are both YOFs. I remember one time I went to see a Rockets with them. Yao had a minor injury and left the game(it was a precautionary thing). My parents basically stopped caring to even watch after that. And kept complaining about money wasted.
i have been a rockets fan sence 85 the first year of the twin towers and i will be a rockets fan long after yao leaves a rockets fan forever

i first saw the nba in 92-93 final chi vs pho then i started to play baskettball the year before at 14 and i was playing the center with a body of shaq (a little fat) i was thinking about quicknest and finest and all around player then the finals setup and i start to practice the dream shake and the fade away and clearing the glasses with rebound and block shots (all dream perfection) i become addictive with the game and H - TOWN (ROCKETS) since that i become a die hard fans defend always OLAJUWON as the best player in the league not jordan he's the only season MVP and final MVP + defensive player of the year and i still mising sam,robert horry, and i still belive kenny smith got game since the 93-94i always said ------------[SIZE=]LET'S GO ROCKETS [/SIZE]------------
ROX all the way! Lived in Houston for 3 1/2 yrs from 95-98. Towards the end of my stay fell in love with the ROX. Since then I've lived in Israel and now London, GB. Rockets are my only real connection with Houston. ROX all the way!
