Could you post a link to that information? I believe that only ketamine was used, and it was to be used as a sedative and anestetic. I am actually much more angry now that I understand ketamine to be a paralytic agent. No wonder it ended the way it did.
Hey Ref, I have had alot of experience with cooky vets and I can tell you it will take OJ's defense team to get a vet a dollar fine in court. Animals basically have no right except the right to not be subjected to cruelty and if your vet didn't beat your cat then you can't do much of anything. Just be glad it wasn't a hospital screwing up with one of your human relatives which has also happened to me.
I'm not looking for any monetary damages. The vet already settled up on that. The only thing we are looking for is that the vet in question have to answer a grievance and have said grievance placed in his disciplinary file. After researching what happened, the type of malfeasance he committed is the stuff of first year texts. If I fail to file an answer when my client gets sued, I will have to travel to Austin and give the Bar a damned good reason for my actions. I want him to have to explain his.
Not wanting to plug, but I take my cat to Memorial Cat Hospital. They are great and deal only with cats. The staff is very caring and also offer boarding. I've never had a problem there. They helped put down a great cat of mine with heart disease a few years ago and were very supportive. They also saved a sick feral cat I adopted afterwards. Best of luck to you.
I actually appreciate the plug. At some point Mrs. Ref and I will adopt a couple of kittens. Sadly, they couldn't have helped Dinky, as we were in Fort Worth.
