My 200gig only costed me 25$ Priced matched to OfficeDepot, and used a rebate from there so i ended up making $5 on the HD. Then just bought a external case on newegg and put it together. Watch Slickdeals for HD deals.
Sort of related, but the JVC KD-DV6200 player (car) will let you play a 4.7 gigs worth of MP3's if you already have a DVD burner. For $250, you can carry your entire music collection with you on a couple of DVD's and add a cheap LCD for movies.
Hi, sorry to hijack this thread (my question is sorta related), but would you guys happen to have any recommendations for laptops around 1000$? I need a computer for college next semester.
1000 is a lot to work with. If you are using it JUST for college make sure you get at least 1GB of memory, processor preferably over 3.0ghz give or take, and however much HD space you think you will need. Probably at least 80.
I just got a 300 GB HP External hard-drive through work pretty much for free (one of those cool rewards programs)... I just have to pay tax on it. So far, I've loaded it up with about 1/2 of my jazz collection (just under 14 GB so far), all my soul/motown/r&b (another 8-9 GB), and about 1/2 my rock stuff (another 10 GB)... It's so damned cool that I still have so much room. I'm going to have to find more music now.
Here's a 120 GB for 83 bucks with google checkout. http://www.buy.com/prod/Western_Dig...ard_Drive/q/loc/101/202958364.html?adid=17662 Found it on Fatwallet. Not sure if it's a great deal or not.
I have a 200 gig Seagate and it has worked really well. I can't remember how much I paid for it but it has been less than a year ago. I like to think I paid around $100 but that doesn't sound like a great deal compared to what other people have been saying.
