But I still think BBIQ is overrated. Basketball isn't played through computer programmes. yea, sure, battier might make a strategic rotation here and there...but lebron and them don't need no rotation..they just go right up and block the damn ball instead of being positioned at 23 degrees to the baseline 43 degrees to the sideline with a hand up in his face etc etc...

thus, saying von wafer has low bbiq is not a valid argument.

    Nate is a PG.

Avery Bradley won't get any minutes this year.

Daniels cant shoot and so can't play next to Rondo, the best PG in the league.

So he's competing for backup SG minutes with delonte to backup a 36 year old. Not hard to get the job by any stretch of imagination.

Lebron has far superior BBIQ than Von Wafer.

BBIQ doesn't just mean you make nerd-based strategic decisions on how to position yourself on the bball court. It means you make the right decisions, the right timing, and the right plays 90% of the time (and Von wafer did it maybe 25% of the time).

It doesn't matter how talented you are if you have poor decision-making.

I miss Steve Novak more than Von Wafer. Considering your moniker, you should too. Granted, we got a huge upgrade in Budinger over Novak, but JT is scarcely an upgrade over VW. Thank goodness for Courtney Lee.

Basketball IQ is what allows players with deteriorating skills to still hold a valuable position on the roster. without it you are just A.I.

I agree with the OP. Say what you think about Von but he was a great spark coming off the bench for the Rockets. The Celtics knew what they were getting when they signed him for next season. Hope he does well there (but not too well)!

Considering how Wafer couldn't even get a job last year on any NBA team, it might be kind of tough to crack the rotation. He's obviously 3rd string for now.

VONilla WAFER!!!! some rowdies used to bring vanilla wafer boxes to the game. We even had a large vonilla wafer box sign.

I miss him. I loved that little 3 sign he made with his hand after a three pointer and I loved the Von-hawk.

I liked him also because I felt like the Rockets were the only team that really gave him a chance and that we were the ones who tapped into his talent.

I follow him on twitter, and he's really annoying on there. He's always complaining about not having a wife, yet he tries to pick up these XXX girls on twitter with their big butts as their profile pic, you know the marriage types. He's constantly retweeting those girls so they show up on my timeline/tweetfeed.

    What is Von Twitter?

Imo he was the most exciting 6th man we had on this team in a long time..One big play from him and he would light the crowd and have us high fiving each other. Besides him not passing the ball enough I don't see why people would hate. I've been a fan since i seen him blow by Kobe Braynt not once but on ia few plays. Besides brooks he was the fastest guy onbthe team and the most aggresive.

You and me both man, I really wish we could have kept him somehow. He would make a great backup to Martin but he's in a great position now backing up Ray Allen. So, best of luck to Von with the Celtics, hope he has a great year.

I think he still might be having back problems from that Lakers play off series when he got hurt. That's the real reason I think Morey didn't want to give him any more then he offered.

Von was just the flavor of the month. Players like him come and go, I am grateful for his energy and hustle, and the 3 pointer he hit against Boston, but our team is much better without him.

Actually players like him have hardly been here over the past decade. We have Bud now who plays a similar brand of ball, but until he came along, Von was the first guy like that in a long time
