We struggled without Bev last year too. He's a perfect role player that can shoot, defend, and rebound. Of course we don't quite look like ourselves yet, we effectively traded our depth for nothing as CP3 can't play yet. But once he gets healthy our team will be way better than last year.
And? They weren't supposed to be good at all. In the games I've watched, the team played great and had great chemistry. Even in some of the games we've won it's clear something is missing
CP3's injured and we're missing a quality guard behind Harden and Ego almost half of our rotation is new: tucker, LMM, black new harden rules. but don't worry we'll adjust
I hate making this post because I have to defend on Facebook sports boards. That being said dude was limited. He is not a PG and eventually he hurt the Rockets. Last season Harden playing PG also brought the best out of Harden and Beverley but in previous seasons Harden having to take up for Beverley not being a PG wore Harden out
Not really He's averaging 12 ppg and 3 assists..lmao. This is the beginning of the season, the clippers are clearly overachieving but theyll drop back down to earth.
Bev is not a scrub, show some respect. @DaDakota's curse he puts on his favorite players is a real thing though.
I miss Beverley too. Appreciated his grit. But guys, you will love CP when he gets on the floor. You get all of Bev's defense PLUS secondary playmaking.
This post makes sense only in context of CP3 being out. Beverly is always gonna do what beverly does ... be a good role player. As much as he said he was going to expand his game now that he's not "limited" by Harden, he's averaging just about what you would expect. Slightly more points. Solid playmaking. The truth is that his offensive game has always been limited. His value goes up the more the team has other stars to carry and bring out his strengths. But when we needed him to do something more offensively, he couldn't, hence Harden's collapse. He's kind of like Draymond in that way only (along with his constant barking at opposing players), though I hate to admit that Draymond is a better defender. His strengths (defense & the antics that go along with it) will come out the more he plays with great players. Otherwise, who's he going to hand the rock to so that he can focus more on defense? He had a great time here. He made great plays and catapulted huge swings in big games, but he also has his weaknesses. In the end, I wish we got to keep him as a specialist for the 2nd unit or something, but good for him to be in a new situation with a revitalized blake. i hope we get to see a cp3 vs bev matchup ... and i wonder if beverly will try really hard to prove himself
