actually, Bullard was not that good when he first started doing broadcasting. He has gradually gotten more comfortable in front of the camera, and now is pretty decent. After seeing him do the postgame show, I hope they decide to use him more often to comment on the games. AirBull rocks!
Either one gets my vote to replace Cooper. http://www.khou.com/newsletters/animalattraction/images/header.jpg
http://www.ktsm.com/anchors/anchors.ssd?c=44e02ae0e0b44d24 ...has a personality like an angel and a body that won't quit... She has my vote.
Cynthia Kuper as Van Chancellor would say, is not very good when it comes to speaking into the mike. She cannot complete a sentence without botching a name or stumbling through. She needs to take some classes. I like what she has to say, I think that it has alot of merit. Its painful.
Factor in this with the EG and Taylor fiascos and this new season is looking like a page from exactly what the Rox did not nat to happen this year. This IS minor but Les is doing this with the best of intentions and f*****g it up royally. At least McLane has the excuse of being clueless. Les is looking more and more like McLane all the time from a PR standpoint. Fortunately he doesn't mind spending for talent.
Just saw the post game show after the win over the Magic. Coop was great...She minced no words and reflected some of the things we say on the bbs...too much in the past, the announcing folks associated with the Rockets have been too easy on the Rockets. Coop tells it like it is and she understands the game, perhaps even more so than Calvin, who himself has stepped up a little bit this year in terms of analysis....
just a lil 'fun' question.. would you guys rather have a pretty girl who isn't really good at talking in the mike.. or a decent girl who knows how to?
wow.. chill out.. it was just a simple question.. i wasn't really referring to coop or that natalie chick.
cooper is horrrrible. i heard on 610 , i think, that rockets wanted half time to be more like tnt's. Barkley and co, are funny and entertaining to watch. Cooper just sucks. Malosky was so much better
And I gave a simple answer...but to answer your question, if I had to choose, I'd take an ok looking lady with skill over a knockout with no skill. People that get their positions from looks don't deserve it half the time, unless it's modeling.
Her commentating is still not that great, but I can see she is improving and getting more comfortable with each game.
IIRC Lisa Malosky played ball in college... before there ever was a WNBA or any womens' pro league, and she would have most likely been in one given the opportunity (teeth like LOBO anyway )... My point is the whole "the Rockets wanted someone with more b-ball knowledge" arguement for why they replaced LM with Coop is purely bologna (or baloney)... no tengo agua. LM played ball, Coop played ball. Coop just played more ball, but that in itself does not give you more insight, nor more ability to express your insight, it just gives you more experience on the court. To make an analogy, some of us have more time lurking the BBS, but it still hasn't helped our ability to express a point. Meanwhile, some "newbies" can post circles around us old timers. Moving along... Ever consider that, after a decade with the Rockets, Lisa may have wanted a change in venue? Maybe a less demanding work schedule? Spend more time elsewhere i.e. family & friends? Or maybe just a breather and then come back with another national job later? Plus, she may still have side reporting jobs with the likes of TNT, etc. as the season goes on... All we know is that she's not with the Rockets on Ch. 51. And that most of you (voicing your opinion) feel Coop's a broadcast nightmare. In fairness to Coop, she will improve as she gets her "shot" going... give her time. She is a Houston sports living legend, and holds a special place in Houston basketball fans' hearts. This is why she was "kept in the family" and given her "shot." To bring in a fan base from the Comets to the Rockets, and hopefully send more fan base back to the Comets from the Rockets... and maybe more for the latter. Since both the WNBA and NBA play in the same building it really can't hurt either side. Also, if the organization ever needs to broadcast an italian feed, she can handle it. Coop will improve. And maybe... just maybe, Lisa wanted to go.
This was a very good suggestion. I don't know why no one picked up on it. I would have gone with Susannah though.
