I think it has been more than 10 years since the last time I was there. I wonder how much it has changed since then. When I think back to my university days in Houston, nostalgia sets in. It was the most fun time of all my various stops at different universities. I miss seeing Rockets games in person, Tex-Mex food, pretty Latina girls, driving around on the freeway, pitchers of Shiner Bock, Hooters, playing tennis at Rice University, playing tennis at UH, Spindletop, heck, even Mattress Mac commercials (does he still do them?)...and so on. Has anyone else moved away from Houston a long time ago and hasn't been in a while? It's weird, most of my friends from back then don't even live in Houston anymore, my girlfriend from back then has long been married with kids, but partly since I never stopped coming to this site (which is probably weird in itself), it feels like I never totally left. I guess I'm old . I think if the Rockets ever make it deep into the playoffs, I'll just book a flight and come over!
The correct title is "Question for my fellow Houston expatriates" . GO to the thread listings, doubleclick on the space to the right of the thread, rename. We haven't changed much, man. I've been a ClutchFan for almost for 11 years. I'm still smileying it. We'd love to have your a$$ back, sir. Give us a ring any time.
Yeah, if you came back after 10 years...BIG difference. The West side and inner loop have blown up and there is construction for new buildings and mid rises everywhere.
I'll go for an alcoholic drink and some pork chops with him and trustme and adeelsiddiqui. Treasures afterwards .
St James is where it's at. Terrible part of the city. BEST strip club in the world perhaps  Come through, man. Houston has changed so much just in the last few years. You know how to reach me!
10 years is a long time. A Lot has changed. Don't wait for the Rockets to make a deep run, take a weekend if you the time and money and go down there to relive some of the things you love about the city.
I think you'd be shocked how much Sugar Land, Pear Land, Katy, and NW Houston (Jersey Village/Cypress) have grown. Downtown and inside the loop also have undergone quite a transformation.
As I have said in the past, I will buy you dinner if you ever come down to Houston. We will follow the dinner with your first Mosque visit. Your first time meeting a Muslim and visiting a Mosque, all in one visit. Must make the trip down. It will be a whole bunch of firsts for you.
Thanks for the kind invitation. I have actually been to a mosque before (Istanbul), but would find it interesting.
Keep this stuff out of the Hangout. But obviously you know that you added that while I already responded.
If the Rockets enter the finals, I will personally fly out to Houston and stay for the entire series. I've never got to celebrate a championship in the real city before.
