Champagne for the real fans, real paign for the cham fans.

Game 1 of both series prove that Yao's got what it takes. He's just never mad and probably sore from reaching down to scoop up AB's bounce passes.

I'm a big fan of Yao, but the reality is he had foot or ankle problems in the Utah series two seasons ago, and he didn't play last playoffs. This playoffs, he did great against Portland, but if he's being hampered by ankle problems, our chances against the Lakers went from slim to none.

So given this history, there has to be concerns going forward.

Go read my posts from the start of fee agency, to the draft and see what I was biching at. The number 1 priority was getting a 3rd scorer;then a backup big man. The first thing the rox did was sign brent barry. I was campaigning for elson, magloire, ratliff, anderson, mbenga, just someone 6'11 that can give yao a breather. All those guys signed for 700k less than barry. Then we roll into the draft and this big athletic kid is starring us in the face in the 2nd rd. He has some maturity issues, but 7ft 250 that can rebound, dunk, and blks shots sounds good for 15-18 mins a night, plus he's 20. The rox pass and draft the same guy 6" shorter and 5 yrs older. Go figure. Now in the playoffs, we can't afford to take yao off the floor because his 45yr old back up got hurt and his next backup is 6'5.

    with you on this.

rockets must find a quality backup for yao. maybe he CAN....but he SHOULD NOT be asked to play 40 minutes per game. Not a man of his size. Those guys that size have never done it. what makes the rockets think he will be the one to do it?

stupid on rockets part. especially when you add in the fact that ming has had more than a few foot injuries, ankle, knee.

what were they thinking by only having dekembe as a backup?

He's talking about DeAndre Jordan, very limited offensive skills but a good live body and a full 7 footer.

Exactly, a guy that can play beside him and back him up.

Yes, the Rockets passed up Jordan for Dorsey. Dorsey didn't get any playing time because he either sucks or because of injury. Who knows what the real answer is because of the mixed messages ... Morey being disappointed in the lack of work ethic and there was also the news about his foot problems.

If Dorsey gets his head on straight he can have an impact similar to the way Chris Anderson has done for the Hornets and Nuggets. I wonder if Morey regrets picking him.
