Yao need a tutoring session with Deke. Just practise on a sandbag. Yao, find a chance and one pesting asshold, collect all your might, whack it hard on his face, keep doing it until you smash someone's nose and eye socket or until someone bite off his tougue, then you will be free. How the **** do we get these ideas through to Yao?
While I know what you're trying to say, I don't think doing that will exactly help set him free. Might just earn him a bad suspension : P.
Not if it takes place when the ball is alive. Karla is known to do that early years of his career. It is Yao's reputation on the line. Is he gonna be a guy who may put you in comma if you play dirty behand his back or not? If the answer is yes, you bet Yao will have his way to the basket for the rest of his career.
LOL, a friend of a friend said her family's Yao's neighbor at some gathering I was at, should've mentioned something to her about passing this message on if she wasn't BSing
This sounds exactly why we have deke on the team - when Yao is getting abused early in the first quarter, put Deke in for 1 or 2 minutes and let him introduce Ben to Mr. Elbow. "Hello Ben, this is Yao's friend, Mr. Elbow." Maybe Yao isn't signing enough basketballs for the refs. I still have it in the back of my mind that perhaps Gundy pissed off some refs real bad years ago and they are all making him pay now for the bad karma.
Yao needs to retire one dirty player or two in order to survive. Being a dirty player shoud not have no place in this league anyway.
omg, listen to all of you. One guy wants him to retire a couple of players, one wants him to smash a player's nose. What has this world become? With that said, I wish he would learn a few tricks from Deke.
Ever see the longest yard? yao should just deliver an outlet pass right into the refs' nuts, if he does that a couple times, they might officiate him more fairly.
more like ewing and deke should read this post i don't think it'll make much difference if yao reads it. for one, it's not in him. and two, even if he wants to do it i doubt he knows how
This is part of the reason why Olajuwon is one of the best to ever play the game. A lot of people only know Hakeem as Mr. Nice Guy, but when he was Akeem at the U of H he was one seriously BAD SOB. He played hard and when he had to do it he could get pretty nasty. Ask Olden Polyniese(sp). Akeem beat the CRAP out of him during a game in college. He wasn't always the nice guy everyone knows him as now. He had a dark side. I wish Yao could learn to have some of that. Yao could learn a LOT from just watching tapes of Hakeem.
I was just about to say that. Yao is way more aggressive and complaining much more than he did in previous years, but it seems as if the calls are just getting worse. I hope Yao doesnt back down and maybe they'll give him more respect.
that is very true I remember one of the early games with the Rockets. .. a guy did something to Akeem. . . akeem just stared him down the whole way down the court then out of no where. . BAM! Akeem popped the sh*t out of him I fell out laffing cause it was so unexpected Rocket River
That was one of Yao's best games as a Rocket. He was basically just turning and trying to bulldoze his way right through Ben freaking Wallace. I loved it. I loved every single offensive foul. I loved seeing him lower his shoulder and initiate the contact. I loved the elbow to the head even more. It didn't matter that he fouled out - we were going to lose without McGrady anyways. It was the long term ramifications of last night that stood out. None of those ticky tack fouls on defense. The play in the first quarter on defense when he let the man go by on the fastbreak and avoided the silly foul. That was progress. He made them wear every foul he committed last night and that's the way it should be.
I just hope he continues to be like that every game. Yao actually made Ben Wallace see stars and I loved it. During a slow-mo replay they showed Yao posting up on Ben Wallace. It looked freakin ridicuolous. Yao is so freakin huge and built now that he should be able to overrun anybody in the league.
For Yao to play like that, he needs to get the ball inside the paint area, not 12ft+ away from the basket. It's almost an automatic TO when he gets the ball that far away, because right now he has ONE thing only in his mind when he has the ball, bulldoze to the basket. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but he doesn't take those midrange jumps any more as he did before. When he put the ball on the floor, tries to drive by people with more than one dribble, you can almost see a TO coming. The Rockets need to figure out a way to get him the ball when he is close to the bakset enough, and he needs to finish the damn thing strong, opens his elbow on the way up, not just raise the ball to let opponent to slap it away. With his size, and the opened elbows, there is no way anyone can get close to him to block the shot.
