Where is all the outcry of anger after the killing and harrassing of innocent Sikhs and Muslims after 9/11? And which continues on to this day.

On the list of comedians who wear novelty t-shirts, Sarah Silverman is indeed the uber-hotness. Unfortunately, #2: still Bruce Vilanch.
I'm not aware of any Sikhs being killed after 9/11 but I've heard there are several stories about them being beaten up jailed and or harrassed. For them and for innocent Muslims also there has been a big outcry. I didn't think to bring it up because the discussion was regarding a slur use towards Chinese and Vincent Chin is an example of a CHinese who was killed because of racism. Maybe if the discussion was around the term "Raghead" then an example of a Sikh being targeted would've been better.
I don't know, sometimes she's good looking, sometimes she's not, one of those borderline "good from far, far from good". Same with her jokes, sometimes they are hilarious, sometimes they are very flat and predictable. Gonna give her an undecided for now.
I was about to b**** about that as well, and wondered why this hasn't gone to the D&D after all this Asian and Jewish stuff. Here we go:
Damn, this thread is still going? She's not that hot or funny, but hey, to each his own... btw, nic pics...
Sarah Silverman was hilarious...until she started dating Jimmy Kimmel and he sucked all the funny out of her the way he sucks it out of everything.
And I hope it doesn't. This has been an interesting discussion that I would've missed out on had it been moved to D&D. Of course, this means it will probably get moved now.
I don't think I ever commented on her looks. She has that complete JAP look down pat which I find pretty hot. Kind of like Fran Drescher without the annoying accent.
She's probably funny and quick witted -- I could probably have good laughs at her jokes. But definitely she is not hot, by that I mean she doesn't have much sex appeal to me. Then again, it's all in the eye of the beholder.
Good Lord. You people now have me worrying about sensitivity. Back in college, I had two female friends who happened to be Jewish and affectionately called each other “JAP’s.” As soon as I posted that, I worried that the term could be offensive if…………used by someone else. Sure enough, a quick yahoo search turned up this tidbit: “While there may be a few token women who fit the stereotype, it's a cruel slur frequently directed at Jewish women in general, and not always by Jews. (see William Styron's Sophie's Choice, especially chapter 7, for some very offensive Jewish portrayals, including the JAP.) The most common use of the slur "JAP" is by Jewish men who rationalize their habit of dating gentile women by slandering the Jewish women whom they could be dating. Many who use the term are unaware of its offensive nature, so if someone uses it innocently, politely ask them not to use the term.” We’re all becoming boring, albeit sensitive, robots.
Pole, Why are you sensitive? If you have friends that don't mind you using that word, then it shouldn't be a big deal. Just like if you have friends who have had that word used towards them in a derogatory way, they have every right to be offended by it. I don't see the problem with that and based on this post, you don't seem to either: I do think that people can be too sensitive, but there's a reason for that. For those who are too sensitive, we have no idea what they have gone through to make them feel that way. And I think there's a bit of "the sky is falling" mentality to those who are so offended by the P.C. police (which I think is ironic myself). This quote is exactly what I'm talking about. I listen to XM Comedy all the time. There are numerous racial jokes from numerious comedians including very famous ones (Robin Williams comes to mind). I attended a few comedy shows on our honeymoon and one of the white comedians was actually directing racial jokes to a table full of African-Americans. Not only were they laughing their asses off, I looked around at the rest of the room and every single African-American in there were in stitches. These are the same jokes that many people, including yourself I imagine, seem to think can't be told anymore. It's all about how it's said. Racism is alive and well in this country. People say very offensive things. It's easy to say that those that are the recipient of the comments should let it slide off their back, but how realistic is that?
