Ok, not really... I don't know if he is winning me over or I am just getting used to his style of play. And although the man still can't make an entry pass to Yao worth a crap, Mobley has really begun to win me over with his timely shotmaking abilities and defensive prowess. As a purist, I abhor his shot selection, but I must admit, he is a certain knack for hitting those tough shots where one says-- "OH, don't do that... no.... NO!" * SWISH * (in your face, Stuart) The man does seem to force the issue sometimes on the fastbreak and I haven't seen much improvement on that point, but Cat's a tough customer. Although he probably averages more shots than the so-called individual foci of the team, I feel after the first 10 games, he really has settled into a secondary/tercerary scorer. And I believe many here feel the same way as the "Trade Cat" threads have morphed into "Trade Steve" threads. I must admit I do not see as many disparaging Mobley threads as I saw the beginning of the season. So continue making me eat crow Cuttino, as long as the Rockets continue winning. Stuart
I don't think the cat man gets enough love. Frustrating at times, but overall, we're much better off with him. We won't miss Cat until he's gone...
Cat is a player who has nothing but heart for the game. He accepted a small contract (compared to what Toronto offered him) in order to stay in Houston and play basketball here with his buddy (Steve Francis). He wants to remain with the Houston Franchise.
good to see a positive post. I think he's got more love than not on this board, you'll just find the haters are more vocal
Their too talented for their own good. They need to learn to get, take and make the easy shots. The only shot that you can be 90% sure won't go in is the end of the quarter shot by Steve, at least this year.
Part of the comedian that hosts Insomniac on Comedy Central's stand up routine. He's a real negative b*stard, but that's part of what makes him funny.
what kind of contract did Toronto offer Mobley? Anyone know what was offered and what he eventually accepted by the Rockets? I konw he's getting paid around 5.5mill a year to play here.
A good sign I'm glad to see most! Man, what's Cat done deserves love from all true Rox fans!!! BTW,the title---'I Love Cuttino Mobley!' is the best topic I've ever seen on Clutch BBS.
Yeah, you notice how little he handles the ball these days? He could push it up if he wants to, but he doesn't even want to touch the ball until we're in the half court. If it comes to him, he'll give it to either Steve or JJ. Cat's mostly playing weak-side on offense so he doesn't even have the opportunity to pass (or not pass) to Yao in the post. Good shots & good defense. Cat's doing fine. Nice thread & post.
