My daughter will be devastated. I'm devastated. Luckily we had the sense to pack up a bunch of stuff for evacuation, but today I face the reality that I will be a guest in someone else's home or staying in a hotel or shelter for months most likely. It's very surreal and painful at the same time. I left behind neighbors who have no way out and I am sick thinking about them. Retain water for months they've said. That seems to me like the house will be rotted by the time we can get back.
So sorry to hear, hope it works out for you and all the other unfortunate people in the area. Never lose hope.
Terrible news. Cling to all the important people and things that you love that weren't lost. It'll be difficult, and may even seem impossible at times, but you and your family will come out of this stronger and shining like gold before it's all said and done.
as long as you're safe with your beloved one ,everything else is replaceable, best wishes for better outcomes
Damn man really sorry to hear about that , at the very least it sounds like you and your family got out safely.
very sorry about your home and possessions! i hope all the cf brehs and houstonians afflicted with this will come out on top in the end. for me, this is a good lesson to count my blessings and to take care of my important possessions/memories to prepare for moments like this. hope all are OK! we're all praying for you.
Really sorry to hear that. I hope that all the material losses will eventually be compensated. The most important thing is that you and family are safe. You are one of the best posters on this board!
I'm sorry brother. I know it's tough, but stay positive and just remember that you will get through this.
Like everyone else I'm very sorry to hear that. It's good to know that you're alive and safe though. The loss of your house is obviously very hard and will be with you and your family for the rest of your lives. If it's any small consolation many houses survived Katrina. They had to be gutted but rebuilding your home is still possible.
