You gotta admit that it's at least mildly humorous to think of Kelvin Cato as the anti knucklehead.I do see him being a good fit here though.
I would be very interested to find this. Could you suggest a link? Everything I've researched has shown Shane Battier to be one of the most efficient and effective (defensive and offensive) non-star players in the league. Moreso than many marquee names, Battier's performance on the floor seemingly translates to greater point differentials and team wins. Comparatively, it appears he'd be either the 3rd, 2nd, or even 1st most efficient player on any team in the NBA. http://www.82games.com/0506/0506MEM.HTM http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/battish01.html The "Advanced" section of the second link will detail items like a player's overall offensive/defensive rating (points scored/allowed per 100 possesions), estimated number of wins produced, true shooting percentage, etc. Compare this guy against some of his supposed equivalents (Posey, Villanueva, BBowen). You'll find Shane Battier is an absolute gem. I love this trade.
lol. you cant be serious, it cannot compete with most benches in the league. most benches in the league are better than 3 of our starters. but thanks for making me laugh.
I have considered this. Have you thought about how Battier last year only averaged 2 3pt attempts per game. Now that he is in a situation that requires him to shoot more will he maintain that percentage? His past indicates he will not. Also, compare his regular season numbers with his playoff numbers. His minutes are down 32.3 regular to 26.4 playoff, fg% 45.4% reg 43.9% playoff, 3PT 38.1% reg 28.6% playoff, FT 74.4% reg 47.1 playoff, reb 4.8 reg 5.2 playoff, Assist 1.7 reg 0.8 playoff, steals 1.28 reg 0.5 playoff, Blocks 1.0 reg 0.58 playoffs, Points 10.5 reg, 6.0 playoffs. Every number except rebounds are down in the playoffs. So matching up against the best players you see a significant downturn in almost every single aspect of his game. Don't get me wrong, I think Battier would be a nice fit here as a backup SF/PF. The problem is that he is going to be a starter here and I think he is going to end up playing more at PF than SF which means we still have a tremendous hole at SG.
NBA.com stats for each player. Go to their site and look up each player they have their efficiency ratings right underneath their PPG, RPG and APG.
