We need a "trade proposal" forum for newbies to suggest trades that are not substantiated by any reputable sources.

Well Said Abrocketsfan thats exactly what I believe in too.. I mean for heaven sakes people talk on this board about bandwith when surfing the net. I mean frigin get real do you pay for every KB that is sent and receive .. NO you pay a monthly charge and thats that. Now If the Moderator of this board said something about saving bandwith and so forth with replies to threads like these then by all means we should be considerate and listen. But I mean again its the offseason.. You take away threads like these and what do you get... Crickets... thats what your gonna get because nobody can post anything except post from articles for example chronicle,nba.com,espn...

Once again....i'll say I don't mind people "newbies" posting topics about trades or whatever. I and many others would just like for them to PUT SOME THOUGHT into what they are saying. Think before you post. I love reading trade ideas and free agent wants/needs.....just the ones that has some sense to them. It's the offseason.....I mean, where would we be without trade proposals from members? I encourage that to the fullest....just please think aboutit first. Then after the home work is done & they feel it still sounds a lil FAR FETCHED ,but worth mentioning....."just a suggestion" How about starting a thread like this...

Trade Idea.....might not work, but looking for opinions

It will probably save then from being in a hot kitchen full of Cluth City Vets

Forget that....we need a point guard, remember.

Guess who's value is down this year......someone's bound to realize this.

I can see it now..... "trade for Steve Francis," or "Bring the Franchise back to H-Town!" threads will be popping up everywhere as soon as some idiot's sloth-sized brain comes to life and thinks of this as a solution to our PG problem....

Mark this down. It will happen....sooner or later. ;)

making a big deal out of nothing. i mean there were two trade threads that didn't make sense on page 1 at the time this thread was started. its the offseason, you cant have perfection all the time. shouldn't be an issue.

sjackson0, I agree with you. However, with an open forum like this, there will always be undisciplined posters who start dumb threads. Hopefully after carefully reading your original post there will be fewer of them. This is the best open forum I've found anywhere on the 'Net and hopefully it will stay that way.

First let me say I was the one that made that post, not espiritabonita, I was on her computer and didn't realize she was logged in. Even if you were "requesting" and not "complaining" does it really make any difference? Either way you approach it, it's going to do no good. You have to learn that during the offseasons people on here will do anything to pass the time, even make crazy trade ideas. It looks like you have one other thing to learn, people don't like it when you constantly bump your own post, even if your responding to other responses.

I'm the pot calling the kettle black, but if you haven't seen a thread like the one you started then you aren't reading enough either. ;)

Just wanted to let you know that I've thought your way too.

I just have a problem with someone starting a new thread on a topic that's already being discussed in a different thread, or in multiple threads that are still 'active'.

It just rubs me the wrong way. It feels like the poster's saying, "Hey, I know that this is already being discussed, by my opinion/idea is so groundbreaking and important that everybody should be made aware of it!"

What humors me most is how we end up with a 50 plus post thread bashing a trade idea (and yes I am replying as well). I have been reading this board for years, became a contributor (with a different name) when I coudn't access the site when BIG NEWS was going down. Talk about fuel the fire here! For all of those complaining, this thread could have been dead on like the second or third post. Yet here we are talking, or remenescing about our first trade proposal, and how outrageous these posts turn out to be. Sigh, but thats what makes the board go round though, and it just goes to show how little really is going when a post that turned off topic like this is still receiving this much attention. And to all those new posters who have to throw out that first "huge trade or aquistion" for virtually nothing in return.... It's ok... we all did. So keep posting those opinions or proposals, its good fill in material. Besides, we need something to talk about, or something to pass the time until some real news happens.

Pugs or Bonita....I wasn't bumping my own post! How do you know what I was doing? I was responding to what was directed to me. I could care less what order my post is shown. Get Real. I really appreciate your thoughts, but you're not going to get anywhere with me with that mess. Now moving on........There IS a BIG difference in "requesting" and "complaining"..........if you don't know that, then I can't relate with you. All I asked for the new posters to do was....
    THINK BEFORE YOU POST

What's so wrong with that? I didn't say, "don't post at all" did I? I'm proud to be a member of this site and feel privileged to know that people from other cities come here to get insight on Rocket basketball and NBA topics in general. ClutchFans.net is top notch......we need to make sure it stays that way by helping the new posters out with advise. That's all I was trying to do. IT's ADVISE MAN/WOMAN. I took advise from senior members here when I started too. It wasn't from posting bad trade ideas or anything like that, just on how things work around here. Till this day, I still appreciate the advise and insight those senior members offered to give. It's made me more of a GURU today than I actually thought I was. So, I understand you to a point......but read what I said before trying to lecture me.

Let's take a different spin on this. As a long time member, I have no problem with knuckle head suggestions. Think about this. When something outragous is suggested, this is a time to mentor others not criticise. Also, a chance to enlighten many of us who don't spend time studying the in's and out's of contracts, salary caps, etc. In other words, your insights and knowledge when presented to newbies about why something just isn't fesiable in the wolrd of multi million dollar contracts, etc., are actually very informative, so someone like me gains wisdom and insight from your corrections.Just be glad you can be a teacher in this world, so few take the time to share thier knowledge without having to add thier ego driven told ya so's, etc. Really, isn't that one of the main reason's for a bb? I'm a gut instinct fan, and find my intuition, ( which is a really a combination of experience, knowledge and paying attention to both my inner voice and human beings and what they do rather then what they say), is generally right on as to what is actually going to happen next, so all the stats in the world are just that, as each bb relationship and combination is unique and presents it's own up an down sides.
