Whenever I see a 'let's trade Mo Taylor cause we have Juwan or a Juwan is better than Mo Taylor'...
    I will bring balance ..

I think the Rockets are in good shape at PF with both Mo and Juwan. We will not lose much when either one subs for the other, as they are pretty interchangeable. Just go out and play full throttle.

Not sure why so many think we need to trade one or the other. We have two pretty good PF's and i want to keep them both.

Based on the apparent escalation in salaries occuring, Mo's contract will not look too bad in a couple years.

Just sign a serviceable backup center. I don't think the PG position is as critical with TMac aboard.

Damn people. Calm down. Who cares who is better? I sure don't. We have both of them. Lets look at who was more important at the end of this season(not stats) and then decide. At present time, I would rather have JH as the starter due to his seemingly better rebounding ability. MoT is probably the better 6th man because he is a really good 1st post option when Yao is out of the game. All that could and most likely will change with the TMac factor. I personally like Howard(now that he is a Rocket).

Both of them would be ok of course. But we are also considering to move either one of them due to cap reasons. Remember, we must prepare for Tmac's xtension and Yao in the near future...

Yes...but we would most likely just get a contract in return, as I don't see them bringing in multiple players unless they are crap. But that's why i'm no GM.

But you don't want balance. You want JH gone! MoT will be traded if its in the best interest of the Rox. The proof will be how well JH plays this year. He's gonna start no matter what. The spotlight will be on JH (and MoT). So, it's up to him (them) to battle for the starting spot.

Of course you want JH to fail because all you care about one player. Are you friends with MoT?

P.S. Personally, I don't want MoT traded. Just want him to come off the bench.

Thats always have been a problem. Who did Francis stop? I feel confortable with Lue as a starter. He knows how to feed the post and hit open shots. I would like to see the Rox get Jones for about 3.5 per yr for about 4 yrs or Terry for te or McInnis and Battie for Taylor. I don't think we need to make a major move, but i would like to low budget improve this team a little. The Rox night and night out have a advantage at 2 and 5 spots on just about every team in the league. Howard is a solid player whom you can't cheat off of and a good character guy like Lue and Jackson. I'm cool if we enter as is.

Well if the players that CD brings in continue to not live up to expectations, CD will be kicked to the curb. You must have forgot, this is strictly business.

I just don't see how you can complain about a GM that has assembled a young team who has the starting Center and Shooting Guard for the All-Star Team.

I think the plan is to have JH start and MoT off the bench. JVG loved MoT's spark off the bench last season, why change that?

The beef I have with Dawson is that he is just not creative enough to put the really good pieces around Mcgrady & Yao. Instead will get mediocre pieces that just falls in his hands. Then we wonder what could have been.

I am no Juwan Howard fan. I've always thought he's a loser. But to deny that he is a better player than Mo Taylor is just blind, either blind worship of Taylor or blind hatred of Howard.

You want balance. But you have given nothing but derogative remarks about Howard without any substantial evidence to support your assertions.

    Easy,

Don't get me started on dropping stats and historical data on you. You must be hating Taylor to think he's a better player than Juwan. I think Kenny Thomas is better than Juwan. I mean, I know when Snoop knocked you off your game, you had to recognize.

    Be my guest.

I assume you meant "to NOT think he's a better player." No, I don't hate Taylor. I just don't think he's a good all around player.

I think so too. But how does that matter?

Good is too strong a word. I would say that they are in fair shape as both guys are no better than an OK solution at the 4. In fact, they are basically the same player with the exception being that Howard actually plays a bit of defense and grabs a few rebounds. I confess that I am just not a big fan of his game but he should be...OK. Whether his play can force teams to stop collapsing on Yao remains to be seen.

What will be a problem for the Rockets is that their competition in the West has far superior players playing this position. Matching up height-wise will definitely be a problem as they now have a bunch of 6'9" guys on the front line. You can get away with that playing in the East but not in the West.

I wouldn't mind if we got Horry back. He's taller, a better shot blocker, a proven clutch shooter, and can play the 3.

Plus, Horry brings back glamour to the Rockets lineup..

It's amazing how easy it is to become a kiss ass. All you have to do is be sensible and rational. ;)

Kayman is always going crazy on "that cheap b*stard Alexander" and that's fine. He can say what he wants about me. I'm not the one that sounds crazy. :D

I think Dawson is taking a similar approach to filling out this roster that the New England Patriots have done in recent seasons....They let everyone else overpay for mediocre players and then they get a bargain later in the offseason.
The approach seems wise in sports with salary caps...especially when you already have your franchise players in place.
This team is in good position. There are plenty of teams out there that are paying max money to one and sometimes even two players that don't deserve max money. The Rox will pay max money to two players that definitely deserve max contracts...and they're both young.

This year's FA market will be one that many teams will regret a couple of years down the road. If Houston participate in the madness, we will regret too.

If we be cautious this offseason, in a few years, we'll be able to get what we want by lowballing many teams who are desperate in dumping bad contracts they sign this year. Incidentally, a few years from now will be the peak of Yao and TMac's careers.
