At a breakfast restaurant in TriBeCa, NYC. Apparently, he lives in a $35k/month apartment down the street from here. /coolstorybro
My sister works at a bar around the area and says Pierce and Garnett go in all the time. A few months back she told me that they made her friend cry because they were making fun of her "jelly bean ass". /coolstorybro
Wonder why you'd rent at $35k a month. First, there probably isn't a ton of supply at that price. Second, you could borrow a crap-ton of money to cover $35k a month P&I payments (or less, if you want to factor in property taxes and insurance... but still enough to find a nice place), and get the interest expense reduction.. of course a guy like Pierce can probably just take out a personal note no problem. And third, you'd think that Pierce or KG wouldn't be opposed to having a place in NYC even if they don't stay on the Nets for a long long time. RE prices aren't likely to decline in Tribeca anytime soon, and the cache of it previously being Paul Pierce's apartment might give it a price bump anyway. TL;DR... cool story bro, pics or gtfo
I doubt $35K a month means anything to him. Plus, he gets to be neighbors with Mariah Carey! http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2013/10/17/new_net_paul_pierce_rents_35k_apartment_in_tribeca.php
Assuming OP has correctish info, they might own an apartment in a building with other units that rent around $35k/mo.
I've seen him be a dick in public. I've meet a handful of players in random situations, and by far, he was the most stand offish to those around him, and fine to me, but not nice. Everyone else has been super nice (I have a connection to the players union, so I name drop it in these situations).
Welp, just read the curbed link. Guess not. I agree with the suggestion that it's silly to rent something that pricey unless you're not planning on being there long and don't want to deal with the hassle of buying and selling over that period.
Pierce makes 35k in LESS THAN A DAY based on his $15 mil salary. He doesn't give a **** about 35k lol.
