I hear ya, but the fact that I was convulsing on the ground for 20 minutes made it a seizure. If I had just passed out unconscious, they probably wouldn't have had to call an ambulance. They could have snapped me out of it by slapping me on the cheek or sitting a stripper girl on my lap or something.
that definitely has to be a relief that there are no tumors or anything like that. I'm glad that you are ok, and I hope you and the doctors can continue to work on this, so that you will be alright.
Thanks FB. Yes I am glad that it is nothing like a tumor that caused this. Hopefully it can be addressed by altering my lifestyle, something that has been way overdue. Five weeks from Thursday, I turn 45. I cannot live the same lifestyle I did when I was 20, or even 25. Time to grow up...in some ways!
Glad to hear you're doing all right RMT. My little brother has epilepsy, and I can tell you right now to thank a deity that it appears you don't suffer from that malady. Now get back to blues. It's a healer, I've heard.
Thank you. Yes, apparently I do not have epilepsy, thankfully, and I do not have to go on medication. I will be getting back to the blues on Saturday night at the Zydeco Kitchen in Pearland. All y'all are welcome to come on down. I will probably be sitting down during the whole show. First time ever. And if you want to buy me a drink, please make it a diet Coke. Thanks.
Bummer - that's close enough for me to make it (provided you actually play this time *cough* ), but I can't buy you a beer? I guess I'll just have to drink one for you then - I'm good at that.
Rest up RocketMan Tex, eat some good food and goof off while you have some free time.. Glad to hear you're ok
RM-Tex, your story is similiar to my sister's. she had a seizure at work a couple of months ago. and she's only 23. doctors ran all the tests and came up with nothing. they did tell her she needs to get more sleep. fortunately, they gave her the ok to drive since victims are usually revoked of their licence for a year. i still worry every time she's on the road though. she only stayed 5 hours at the hospital too. and that Mike Tyson reference is right on. when i saw her i was like, DAMN! here's to your health man.
Yes, we are going to play. Please come out. It will be a fun night. Don't forget to eat dinner there. They still serve the same great food, they just serve it waiter/menu style instead of cafeteria style like they used to.
Great to hear that you're ok RMTex! Your meal skipping and sleep sounds familiar to me... ... (maybe my brief afternoon naps will save me ).
you can still go out and throw back a few cold ones, right? seriously though.... i'm glad you're alright. some people don't realize they have to change some of their ways until it's too late.
glad to see your taking it well RMtex. it is a very scary thing to lose total control like that. i don't have epilepsy but i have had many small seizures in my life. in my case they were always "lifestyle"-related. fortunately my life is no longer as colorful as it used to be. chin up, you'll get through it.
Holy crap...Hope you're doing ok...Has this happened before, did you see it coming? I know, I'm too lazy to read all the posts, but if the change in lifestyle helps, do it (not that there's anything wrong with that... )
Looks like the days of sex, drugs, and rock and roll have come to a tragic end. Seriously though, take care of yourself, man.
Just to make you feel better, my mother had a massive seizure when she was 24 years old. According to the doctors, they said it most likely was an air bubble that had gotten into her bloodstream. When it went up to her brain, seizure time. BTW, that was 33 years ago. She has never had another episode.
