A good friend of mine had it a few years ago. She opted to ride it out without any medication and it went away after about two months. Good luck.
One of my closest friends has Bell's Palsy. Permanent. It's not that noticable...it only is noticable to me because I've known the guy for over 20 years. He started having it about five years ago. When he smiles, he looks like a riverboat gambler playing poker.
I've heard of it but never knew any of the symptoms. From what other posters are mentioning it only sounds temporary so good luck riding it out.
I got it about 5 years ago. They think mine was due to a Flu shot that I got at work. Mine never went away 100% but you can not really tell except in pictures where I smile to big. But for most people, they go back to normal in about 3 to 4 weeks.
I sent a prayer to you. For some reason, I thought of Corky when I read the title. I know. A different Palsy.
I normally use humor to try to get past a bad situation. I'll use Taz's joke on Jim Ross. "I'd slap you but it looks like God got to you first" har har but in all honesty, I really hope you get better. Good luck with that
That sounds scary. Sounds like initially it would be difficult to determine from the symptoms whether it was Bell's Palsy or a stroke.
MMMMMM....Yeah...I guess it is ironic. Well today I got this cool elctroid thingamagingy....I put these pads on my face and zap zing man. Weird feeling...but helpful...I can tell. My biggest complaint is my left eye being dry and stressed. A huge part of my job is editing and today was a killer trying to stay on a project without taking breaks here and there. My eye was killing me. I guess it still hurts and here I am...looking at a damn computer screen...will I ever learn. The guys at work told me to get a patch and then I would become the angry pirate editor.....great....it's already started with the humor. But it's cool. Anyway thanks for the support dudes!!!! It sux...but from what it sounds like..will not be permanent.
I thought most people are born with cerebral palsy? Seems weird. Did you drink lead water or something?
It's Bell's Palsy...not cerebral. Bell's is usually temporary and affects half the face....Cerebral I believe is permanent and affects the whole body...bad stuff. I woke today without my neck hurting...first time in weeks. So that is good. I think the electric therapy is already helping..along with the steriod and antivival I'm taking.
soon you shall be able to overtake the likes of bonds and sosa for home run supremacy. good luck, we're all counting on you!
I had a mild case of that about 10 years ago. Doc perscribed some kind of steroids to speed up my muscle movements or something. Half of my face numbed like yours. Taking the medicine, it lasted about 6 days. Doc told me it would last about a week or two. Good luck chewing your food.....By the way, he said it was caused by stress...
Same thing happened to my dad, all of a sudden at work his face started to droop. He was back to normal in about three weeks.
