What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 15 games into it for an inknown commodity! Not smart.
Poor Gene Peterson. When calling games, he regularly says "(Name 1) from (name 2)," when "name 1" is the person who made the shot, and "name 2" is the person with the assist. That'd have him saying "Head from Gay" or "Gay from Head" with alarming regularity. I think the poor man would have a stroke. Er, heart attack.

The biggest difference bewteen last year's team and the team we field now is that TMac is not healthy. Tracy was perhaps the best player in the league toward the end of last season, and that's what it took to get this old and unathletic team into the playoffs. This year TMac is just not healthy physically and can not do the things that he used to do. As a result, the team is playing the ugliest basketball that this franchise has seen in decades. I believe that if the losing trend continues, it will come to a time when the Rockets' best option would be putting TMac on the IR and tanking the season. We need young and athletic players, and given our cap situations, the best way to acquire them is through draft.
If they continue to suck come 2006(i.e, 8 or more games under .500), then it's not a bad idea to consider sitting T-Mac and accumulating as many ping pong balls as possible. Pull a 96-97 Spurs. No, it won't earn them Tim Duncan, but it'll likely get them someone who can address their glaring deficiencies at the 2 and 4 spots.
What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 17 games into it for an unknown commodity! Not smart.
