I hope the Rudy Gay/Battier trade doesnt bit us in a$$ in 5 years

Your posts in this thread have been spot-on. They echo my sentiments exactly and I've expressed nearly the same opinion in a couple other threads.

IMO the Rockets took a big step backwards with this trade.

 

My only issue with the trade is that Battier is under contract through 2010-2011. We should try to get all of our contracts to end three summers from now (2010), except Yao, so that we can have a shot at LeBron or Wade when they opt-out that summer.

 

Heh, this my line of thinking if we get Oden or Durant. They have thos short contracts for a reason but I think LeBron wants to go to Brooklyn and Wade wants to see what Miami looks like post-Shaq.

 

haha Oden or Durant on the Rockets??? Well it is nice to dream isn't it. Oden and Durant are going to bottom feeders and that means the Bucks, Celtics, Hawks or Sonics.
