Yep, the thought of Odom being a spot-up shooter is pretty scary, and not in a good way. He can't shoot from the outside very well. This is why I think Lewis would be a better fit, eventhough he's probably less attainable. Plus, Odom will just add to the Rockets turnover total, whereas Lewis will not.

Good info.

Assuming this info is true, I'm actually hoping that the Clips somehow end up with one of the top 3 picks. Then they would be able to draft their PG, and their negotiating advantage would be weakened. They may feel the need to deal Maggette and Odom quickly, and may be willing to take on the Rocks #1 plus Mooch\2nd rd pick.

If Francis leaves like he said he may, it wont matter where we pick or who we get...we will be in the lottery again next year and we dont even get to keep the pick.

I hope it isn't an April Fools joke, because emoreland posted the thread on March 31st. If it is an April Fools joke, then it was cheaply done, because of course people are going to fall for it if you post the day BEFORE April Fools.

To all here on Clutchcity.net I can promise you that this is NOT an April Fool's prank. I have a life; albeit a very hectic one, and therefore do not have time for pranks just to get one's hope up. And for some posters who thought that we were getting BOTH Odom and Maggette; that information is incorrect. I posted that we would be getting Odom in that scenario, no Maggette. Just wanted to clarify.

Wanted to mention that I find the Francis article disturbing. Talk about bad timing. You know, I don't know if he does this on purpose or just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Reminds me of Ricky Henderson, LOL, especially when he goes into that 3rd person reference.

Hmmm, our draft pick and filler for Odom. I'd do it as long as the "filler" isn't KT.

For those of you who would take Odom for the #6 plus filler...

which of the guys on the roster would you give up (as filler) to get Odom?

In terms of salary, Moochie would make the most sense to trade. You could also get the job done according to RealGM with Kenny, Collier, and TMo. I'm not saying that should happen. I'm just saying it's a combination that would work.

I'd trade Moochie. That makes the most sense to me. I wouldn't trade Kenny. I'd trade TMo if he was the dealbreaker, but that's it. What do you guys think?

Do you all think that the Clips would accept this deal, assuming that we can get Wagner/Williams with our pick?

Odom+LAC #1
for
KT+Wagner/Williams pick

We don't really need Maggette (even though I think he will be really good), but we could use the Clips pick on a big man (Marcus?). Depending on what Toronto does we could then walk away from the draft with Odom and two mid 1st round players.

Francis/Moochie
Cat/OT/Kareem Rush
Odom/Rice/TMo
Griffin/MoT
cATO/Marcus

I just wanted to reiterate that it's not an april's fool prank. I wish I would have gotten this info a little sooner so it wouldn't have been so close to April 1st.

I want to go on record as saying that I am no Oeilpere and I am not "on the inside" as Oeilpere is. I just had a tidbit of info and, as an extreme Rockets fan, I wanted so share it with everyone else.

I also want to say that this scenario is not in any way a "DONE DEAL." It was just something that was discussed between the Rockets and the Clips. I don't want to be slammed if this deal does no go down; it's not set in stone so please refrain from taking it that way.

Did you guys see that Oei|pere thread? LOL that was priceless. Hats off to whoever came up with that idea...hilarious indeed LOL :D

I bet Odom and Mo Taylor would become best of friends.

Just call it a hunch.

emoreland:

ISSUE #1:

OK, it looks like we'll probably end up with the #6, maybe the #5 or #7, maybe even #8, if guys lower than us end up in the top 3. ... AND we could end up with one of the top 3 spots.

But, just for supposition, lets say we end up with the #6 spot, and someone like Dunleavy comes out, and he goes in the top 5, so Dujuan Wagner FALLS to us at the #6 spot.

Are you saying that LAC would be interested in trading Wagner to us for Odom and some filler? I understand the draft choice has trade value, so the filler could be someone like Brown, Langhi or Collier...

... our #1 if Wagner is there, plus filler (Collier/Brown/Langhi) for Odom...

Is that correct?

ISSUE #2:

If we ended up with a top 3 pick, I wouldn't trade it for Odom. I would trade down with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and/or 5th spot, (maybe twice) and pick up another draft choice, and/or up and coming center, such as Diop or Mihm, and THEN take the Wagner for Odom trade. I'd rather have Odom than Woods, Griffin than Gooden, Francis than Williams, Odom/Mobely than Wagner. and prefer not to wait another 5-6 years for Ming to develop. Ming would be the only possible pick we might take, in my opinion. But Odom would be a safer choice. I wouldn't want Maggette in the deal for the first pick. We can do better than that, in my opinion.

Having said that... how are we supposed to get Kwame Brown?
