I say we either try to draft jason williams straight up or trade the franchise for the #1 pick and get him.

I would love to have Odom, he's probably the closest thing to Magic Johnson in the league right now..:)

    Don't overpay for Odom.

This is a guy that is coming off a dissapointing season, AND had drug problems, and is coming from a team that doesn't need him.

I wouldn't trade the #1 overall for Odom and Maggette. The #1 overall has WAY more value. You're talking about probably an instant 18-8 PG, if not better, under contract for cheap for 4 years, or a 22 year old 7'6'' center for cheap money. Whoever gets Odom and/or Maggette would have instantly start negotiating their next lucrative contracts.

Maggette is worthless for this team anyway. Ricky Davis is practically a carbon copy. We have no great need for a backup swingman who will command high money, and has only one great skill in dunking.

Also, KT has reached beyond the point of "throw-in". He's still 3rd when it comes to having a Rockets future amongst the PFs, but he's young, and putting up 14-7, with another cheap year. When Antonio Davis was traded for the #5 overall pick, he was averaging 9.4-7. If KT were hypothetically involved, I make them also take Moochie, and give us Dooling. I'm not a KT fan, but he has plenty of value on his own.

Freak-you want Ming, right? In that case, even better as you'd only have to trade up to #2, and could charge even more if you're trading Francis.

SF3-You forgot Lamond Murray for the Cavs.

Wow...talk about overpaying! We would be trading a top 5 pick, 14th pick and a player (KT) who has had a better year then Odom for a former 4th pick in the draft.

I like Odom, but I would not do that deal in a thousand years.

I would NEVER trade our #1 (if in the top 5) for Odom much less our #1 and a 'filler' for odom. This would help the Clippers greatly, make us worse and catapult the clippes into one of the better teams in the west. The clippers hve the hawks pick(top 5 or 3 protected)from the Lorenzen Wright trade, and you give them our pick. They could end up getting both Williams and Wagner plus their 11-15 pick wherever that might be. if we get the number 3, we will jump on Woods. If we ge one(maybe 2), we will jump on Ming.

seeing as how i've never seen any footage of woods or ming, i'd take lamar odom over anyone in this draft if la would make the trade. if we have a top 5 pick i thinks it's pretty reasonable to say odom would be available. i would not put kt into that trade if they already get our draft pick but i'd do him for odom straight up. as for maggette, i'm not that impressed but obviously would take him, and hopefully move him on for something else.

    EXACTLY!
If we in the top three. . . we will not see ANY trade until MING leaves the board.
If we can . . I say WE GET MING!
When he leaves the board. . .. then we entertain these things
unless a SF of INSTANT SKILL
INSTANT impact comes in . . i think we take the shot on MING

If not ming. . then Odom . . .but word on the street is Odom
wants the MAx. . why bring him here and not resign him . . .when
next year we will be talking about Signing and Trading him
for a SF to replace him and a Center maybe.

QUESTION: Could we resign Odom and Maggette AND Francis?

Ming or Williams come here WAY before Odom. They discount Ming and Williams because they don't think they'll get one of them...and they probably won't. However, if they're around 6 or 7, I can see something like an Odom swap taking place. It will not be KT and their top pick - I can guaran-damn-tee that ( Sounds quite country, doesn't it? ). Haven't heard anything regarding Odom yet...will pick around.

Go Toronto. They still play Indy twice so make no mistake - it ain't over yet!

Francis, Mobley, Odom, Taylor, Cato. Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear a big round of applause for your Houston . . . Trailblazers.

A non-cryptic Doc Rocket sighting? cool.

I understand the Ming, but Doc mentions something incredibly interesting-Jason Williams over Odom.

Value wise, that's clear, but for a team with Moochie and Mobley locked for the next ~5 years, and Francis likely/hopefully/probably soon to be signed for the next ~7 years, why want a 6'2'' PG, over a 6'10'' point forward? Lack of value for Odom, or would the Rockets consider saying "we're going to be the fastest team around" and using Francis-Williams-Mobley: 3 sub 6'4'' guards capable of averaging 20 ppg? Of course, Ming would likely be available wherever Williams is available.

On another note, imagine if the Rockets miss getting the #1 pick because they won 1 more game than another team, and Toronto missing the playoffs by 1 game? Talk about potential serious regret of that win over Toronto...

Now everyone should understand why the Rockets traded down for Collier-it wasn't about getting E. Griffin- it was about helping the Raptors get Morris Peterson. Right now, without him, they'd be in the toilet. They couldn't tank the game against Philly-they shot 37% and still won! Someone's smiling on them...or Rod Thorn is pulling strings so he can face a Vinceable Raptor team...If Jason Kidd comes down with the "flu" when they play the Raptors understand why.

Note to all-Doc is saying we probably won't get Williams or Ming because he already knows the Rockets got the first pick, and have already agreed to trade it to the Wiz for Kwame Brown and their pick. The NBA was trying to find a creative way to get MJ the #1 pick, without looking like a fraud. ;)

NOWAY IN HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE GONNA SIT HERE AND TELL ME YOU WOULD TRADE FRANCIS FOR JASON WILLIAMS???????

SCREW THAT WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER REBUILDING EFFORT
IF WE GET ODOM IN TRADE FOR OUR PICK GREAT THROW IN A WORTHLESS COLLIER OR AIR I DON'T HAVE CORDINATION LANGHI

OR KEEP THE PICK DRAFT DUNLEAVY AND WE ARE SET.

TO ME JASON WILLIAMS IS OVERRATED THE MEDIA HAS GOT HIM SO GREAT AND SO THIS AND THAT BUT WHERE THE HELL IS HE NOW? SITTING AT HOME WATCHING TWO OF THE BEST TEAMS "DUKE" IT OUT.

OH YEAH LET ME HEAR ANOTHER TRADE FRANCIS
DAMN PEOPLE THIS IS HIS THIRD YEAR LOOK HOW LONG IT TOOK KG AND T-MAC TO BECOME THE PERRENIAL SUPERSTAR THEY ARE.

I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ANOTHER REDICULOUS THOUGHT ON WHO WE SHOULD TRADE FRANCIS FOR. OR MAYBE NEXT WILL BE CLAWING AT CATO'S THROAT TO GET RID OF HIM.

Odom has good talent, but does not fit with the offense we've had the last 10 years. I don't see Rudy changing his offense for Odom, if he refused to do it for Pippen.

Odom would basically be a spot-up shooter in our half court offense, meaning that he would not have the ball in his hands too much, especially since we have the 3 most dribble happy players in the NBA with Cat, Francis, and Mobley.

Basically, the role of a SF in our offense is suited for a role player. Would Odom make a good role player? Who knows... Is giving up a Top 5 pick worth trading for a role player? Hell no!
