Maybe take a look into the history of draft picks of what mid first rounders have done. Tari will not get the opportunity to do so with the current staff, but don't act like you have to be a top 3 pick to be a star in this league. Kobe, Devin Booker, Giannis, Jokic, Kawhi, Butler, Klay, etc etc Warriors just paid their late first $35M a year. You must think Ben Simmons will help Brooklyn win it all since he was the top pick in the draft.
Funny how you bash the coaching staff for not starting Tari, then list guys like Kobe, Butler, Poole, etc. who started their careers on the bench.
LMAO and that is what you got from that? You literally just proved my point, in that the perception of draft order matters in how people are perceived, regardless of talent, which is why someone like Tari may not get huge minutes from the start, similar to the guys you mentioned. So thanks for proving it lol.
Statistically, the percentage of mid round picks turned out to be stars is much lower than that of top 3 picks. Percentage of 2nd rounders are extremely rare. There are of course always exceptions because the draft is not an exact science. There are plenty of surprises in mid to late rounders. And there are plenty of busts from top picks. But NBA scouting is not totally meaningless trash. In terms of chances, the general correlation of success and draft position is quite clear.
I believe it, statistically I am sure that is what it says about an unknown top 3 pick vs an unknown mid first rounder, otherwise a mid first rounder would be more desirable if that wasnt the case. We aren't talking about an unknown pick though, we are talking about a specific person in Tari. Once you are given more data, the initial statistics are meaningless. If you are holding a specific hand in poker you have specific odds, those odds change with a flop, turn, river etc. We've seen the flop, and I feel good about the hand. I think Tari is that guy and an exception and hopefully is another example of the guys i mentioned, just my opinion as a fan and not a pro scout. Sengun, to me, being picked in the same range, I do not think is a star. Again, just my opinion based on what I see with my eyes and just pointing out that it is very possible to draft a star in the middle of the first round.
