Yeah that was a brutal miss by the umpire. He was rolling along (only 3 baserunners to that point), ton of soft contact and ended up laboring hard in that inning after the inarguable K that wasn't. Probably shouldn't have gone out for the next inning, his stuff wasn't there anymore. Easily could have been 6 innings of one run ball if that call is made correctly

Box score watching makes the outing look far worse than it actually was.

Too bad that suspension is going to keep him from winning that Cy Young...

Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser this one time defend the Manager to take out Ronel Blanco. Due to injuries in the Pitching Staff.

He's the highlight of this season. He has one of the best fastball changeup combos in the league. The pitches look identical until it's almost at the plate.

He is impressive. BUT impressive Astro pitchers tend to have a short shelf life.

Hovering around a ~2.90 ERA since his suspension... really, really good that he's performing still post suspension.

    One area of concern:
Blanco’s velocity on Tuesday night was slightly down, as his four-seam fastball, slider and changeup were each roughly 1.5 mph slower from their season averages. Blanco attributed the slower velocities to not being able to play catch on Monday.

As long as they perform throughout their time under club control...

His combination of pitches reminds me of Lima time.

Glad he won't be pitching over the break cause that's easily the best thing for him

But he got SCREWED not making the All Star Team

Lima with 3 mph more on his fastball.
Might be crazy to say but he reminds me most of Mike Scott.
When Scott started using the split finger, he went from journeyman to cy young in one season at the age of 30.
Blancos change up looks like Scott's split finger pitch to me. Maybe not quite the same fast all velocity.
