lol. Can you copy n paste it? Trying to draw up a resume right now but all I got started is I read Clutchfans, lol.
But then, why Ariza? He already had 1/2 a season to show what he can do. Why not give Chase, Joey, Jermaine or even Conroy a chance to 'develop'? Only Trevor gets the priviledge?
Check his career. Putting him on the court with anything less than an All Star team around him is putting him in a position to fail.
Really now? Their experience makes them always right? Anybody could pick that argument apart. Get a better one. As far as his potential goes, he has already had half the season to show it. There has been no progress. None whatsoever. He is what he is and a guy that should be taking 18 shots a game he is not. DM and RA get paid big bucks for doing things right which is EXACTLY why they need to put their rose colored glasses aside when they look at Ariza and value him accordingly. They dont get paid for being stubborn or deluding themselves about whether signing a player was a good idea.
trevor ariza is only fun to watch on youtube vids. he is actually a lil frustrating and nail biting to watch in actual rockets games.
Good read(imo) from AOL Fanhouse on the Ariza "experiment". http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/02/02/the-ariza-experiment-has-lost-its-mind/
^^^Nailed it. Unfortunately, everyone else is starting to see what many of us realized from the beginning.
I said it months ago, and I'll say it again. I realize Ariza is a long-term project (hence a 5-year contract) and I will reserve judgement on him until he is one third into his contract; that is, about halfway through next season. Once we have Yao back and hopefully another impact player (Butler, Iguodala, some free agent, etc.), his reduced role should change what he does. Halfway through next season, we'll know if he's going to work or not. This year is simply an experiment and I'll endure the pain now if it can increase his FG% by 3% for next season when it really matters.
this is right. we should have in mind when talking about ariza. he is not a superstar wing player like tmac u can go to whenever u want some points scored. hes more pippen than jordan. until we get some legit stars on our team there is no way you can criticise ariza at all. in fact hes done really well this season. man I've never loved a player on the rockets as much as ariza since tmac and yao..............ariza is a bonafide 3rd option of a championship team and we can see his full arsenal of starpower once we get our top 2 guys back. man if yao and tmac was still here he'd be averaging 45+ percent shooting along with all those steals. can we just look past those shooting percentages??? didnt u know moery doesnt even care about stats and now we're using stats for this???
i don't think he's top dawg status like the article states (brooks and landry are our go-to guys offensively). but the team is definitely giving him a free pass, which is not good for his development. it's frustrating that a guy like him who has played with a restricted role before can't seem to do that again. it's like coming to houston has released the shackles and now he wants to make up for all those lost years of playing as a nobody. we're seeing other guys developing with yao and tracy out. unfortunately, ariza is regressing at an exponential rate. i liked the signing originally b/c he's a really good role player. and he might still be that once yao +/- another star come into play in 2010-11. but anything more than a 5th option, he is beyond mediocre and is borderline sucking mode.
