Agreed, he is a douchbag and HE IS HURTING OUR TEAM!! BIG TIME, Please put him on the bench or reduce his minutes.!!!!!
It is now official, after going 0-4 from 3pt land tonight, Trevor is back to his career average on 3pters of .299..... Maybe we should have researched that little factoid before giving him the full MLE. What did Von shoot again last year? DD
After tonight's game our man Ariza is shooting .298 on 3 pointers, and .377 overall for the season. Really nice for us that he's launching six 3's per game and 15 shots per game. Going into tonight's game he was 4th in the league in 3 point attempts, even though he's a career .299 shooter from 3 point land. It's like watching Rafer launch all over again...both were overpaid, neither can shoot, neither can finish...but at least Rafer had handles...
It ko DD your not going crazy DM and RA are not as incompetent as it looks.they don't really want win this year.think of it that way and save yourself from having a heart attack.
It's beyond "hate" for me. It has now reached the point where I'm just deflated. Every time this guy catches the ball I just hold my breathe and wait until the missed shot or the turnover comes. The few times he slashed to the rim tonight and scored it seemed surreal. It was almost as miraculous and unbelievable as "13 in 35" and I'm only sort of joking when I say that. The guy is a walking afterthought. You just expect he will totally screw up every possession that when he actually gets something right it doesn't really register in your brain. I'm not even sure what else to say about him at this point. He has no business being on the court and he appears to be a poor team mate. I noticed during the 4th quarter during a time out that when the guys on the court (Brooks, Lowry, Budinger, Landry, Andersen) headed toward the bench that the guys on the bench (Battier, Scola, Hayes) got up and met them to give the some encouragement. Guess who stayed at the end of the bench and only got up after everyone else (except for JT and Dorsey) were in the huddle? Yep, Mr. Brick Shot. The TV cut to commercial before I was able to see if he ever bothered to join the team and the coach in the huddle.
I simply just don't understand what is going through Ariza's head out there on the court. I mean, apparently, after hitting that big three last night, he decided that he was "hot" and all of a sudden he's going to be able to make more of the shots that he habitually misses. So he chucks up more of them??? Why doesn't he realize that your shot can only get "hot" if you have a shot to begin with? He had excellent opportunities to drive and get quality, high percentage points in the paint on the two opportunities where he got the ball. So why was the three point at the end of regulation acceptable? Just because it went in? NO, because that was NECESSARY based on the score, we needed to tie it up to have a chance to force overtime. If it's not necessary, and you suck at hitting 3's drive to the freakin' basket. I really wish someone on the coaching staff would drill these things into his head. It pisses me off that we see how much potential he has at times and he just completely screws it up by trying to play in a way that doesn't suit his strengths.
I really defended the Ariza signing all season, but last night was the end for me. I don't care if he hit the three to tie the game, he just jacks up threes (and other ill-advised shots) like he thinks he's Tracy McGrady in his prime. He was promised a feature role in the offense which is why he came here, but he must realize he's not even one of our top 3 players (without Yao). I'm ready for the guy to be benched and to start Budinger.
that would defeat the whole purpose of trevor ariza signing here. he signed here because he was promised a seriously expanded role on the team and an opportunity to develop offensive moves that were much like the ones of a first or second option on a team, and hes trying to do that right now. I agree he should stop jacking up 3 pointers so much when hes barely making any of them, but I have no problem with anything he throws up inside the arc. He cannot be benched, remember, this is a player development year, if hes benched then it would be ridiculous. He should be given an opportunity and 40 games is barely enough time to improve substantially. I'd wait til next season to say anything bad about ariza
hell no. After Lakers withdrew their MLE offer, Rox was the only NBA team willing to offer MLE to Arriza. Arriza's production, thus far, has exceeded expectation commensurate w a MLE contract.
Lakers offered a little more than the MLE. Other teams were going to offer more including the Cavs. He turned down LeBron to come play with us.
Looking back, it would probably have been better if he missed that game tying shot so that he would not have one more reason to delude himself of being a heroic figure.
Im more concerned about Adelman's delusion, not to mention Morey's. Adelman is the one giving him minutes and freedom to shoot and Morey is the one that probably wont want to trade him. It is they that need to snap out of self delusion as soon as possible.
Give the guy a break DM and RA are putting him in a position to fail.just like are team.but come next year it will be worth it.
Yeah because we have the tools to go all the way!! Regardless of whom we match up with in the PO's we got it right? So lets throw away potential 'Lets see where his limits are' time atm instead of finding out next year when it does matter. But then again, those are the people (DM, RA) that get paid for nothing and obviously you with your years of actual experience know whats up.
I need to get down to the Rockets practice facility to intercept the guy's resume. Alexander would be stupid for not hiring this guy to be the coach/gm over the dunderheads we have there now.
