Yeah, that's kinda sad and embarrassing. Yet I dont know what's worse, that stat or that they keep trotting him out there giving him 39 mpg and 12-15 shots(was more around 20 earlier in the season)
Seriously that is pathetic...and it undermines everything as the rest of the players can see how badly he is playing and have to be thinking...why is this chump in the game? DD
I definitely agree Ariza is just killing any kind of momentum we get out there i would have liked to see adelman sit ariza and play shane in the last couple of minutes in the 4th. When will the rockets admit defeat with him....
People didn't notice when I pointed out a couple of weeks ago that Trevor Ariza is shooting worse in EVERY category this season than Rafer did in his worst season with the Rockets (the ill-fated 2005-06 mash unit campaign). I guess they're noticing now. I wonder if DM hypothetically would have argued back then that they wanted Rafer to shoot more because it created offensive rebound opportunities for Yao. I love Daryl Morey, but he fouled up this one.
tell us something we don't know. however, i think morey isn't judging ariza THIS YEAR. he will judge ariza when he brings in a star player later on, along with yao returning. i've said all along, as a 5th option, he's much better than shane battier. but he's pathetic as a 3rd option.
He is NOT better than Shane....because Shane does what a 5th option does, and does it better..... Shane plays within himself....Trevor tries to do too much.......with Shane and Von or Cbud starting we are better than with Trevor and Cbud or Von. Trevor is simply not that good. DD
That's fine, but we don't need two wings who can only stand around with the ball and not do anything with it...much less one that shoots 38% and doesn't get guarded...
Don't admit defeat....just hold him accountable...when he sucks...he sits..... Fricken make him earn it.... I don't care what promises were made........do what is right for the team. DD
People keep saying this is only temporary until we get our stars back. Temporary or not he doesn't have to take the shots. Instead of him taking the shots he needs to pass it down the pecking order to someone like Brooks,Budinger,Landry,Andersen. That excuse is getting really lame. He should not be taking these shots under any circumstance. Even without Yao/Mcgrady he should be getting 4-6 shots per game. He needs to limit himself and play within his ability.
The T-Mac standard is not being applied to Ariza...in fact, none is... I'm not sure how he gets around 40mins all the time with as little as he produces. Even the games where he's gotten off to a good start like 2-3 shooting from behind the 3, or something like that, he manages to get down to 30% shooting back there by the end of the game. No efficiency.
Ariza never left the floor when Rockets came back from big hole. He and Battier were the only two guys who chould slow down bull's offense. Bulls scored on every possesion when Scola/Landry/Cbud/Lowry/Brooks on the floor in 2nd quarter. Ariza shouldn't shoot that much and dribble that much. Other than that, his game was quite good.
I understand that I take into account the pistons game that trevor did not play in and bud had 17 and 11, we need effeciency from that spot and cbud has that which is why is was such and easy win over the pistons that night. Trevor no doubt needs to be held accountable, personally i know taylor isn't polished but jeez man i would be happy to see him a little next to bud
I agree, but I think his d suffers too much when his o isn't there. He looks like he gets down and get an attitude and I just don't think he plays like he COULD on the defensive end when he has nights like these. Just my o.
