WHAT THE hell does his dribble mean.I don't think he needs to do that.he should be more himself instead trying to be a playmaker.his best position is a catch and shoot player,a stealer,a defender.
I doubt he's a Steeler anytime soon. I don't even know when the last time he played football is, but he won't beat the contract he's got in Houston.
Adelman needs to pull out Ariza in the 4th quarter. He just tries to do too much. How many times this season have we seen the ball go to Ariza on multiple consecutive possessions and he totally screws them up, which ultimately screws the rockets out of a win. I loved watching the Rockets last year (even w/ that bonehead Artest) but its been hard watching this team at times just because of Ariza. He is a ball stopper. He remind me of a really really ****ty Tmac. Hell, tmac was better than this last year when he was injured. I want Ariza of this team so I can love this team the way I did last year.
The Rockets need stop trying to turn Ariza into a guy who can score off the dribble. That's not his game. At some points, something's got to give. He should strive to be a Marion/Kirilenko type of player. Multi-tool defensive player, but a guy who plays off the ball on offense.
we arnt force jack squat. everytime he gets the ball he fires it up there... HE chooses to be the first option not the team
Part of the problem is who we're putting on the floor next to him. There needs to be at least 3 other superior offensive options on the floor, preferably two of which are on the perimeter. That allows him to settle into the complimentary role he is more suited for. Even when Marion was scoring 20 ppg with the Suns, they didn't give him the ball to isolate at the end of quarters. They had other guys (Nash, Joe Johnson, Barbosa) to do that. Ariza shouldn't be doing that for us either.
Overall, he had a decent game, but LIKE RAFER he fires blanks and makes horrible mistakes at critical times i.e. the two missed freethrows and the turnover when the game was still up for grabs. He is really starting to get on my nerves. Off the dribble, he is scary bad.
Terrible player who doesn't realize his level. it's like 5 years old kid trying to adapt himself to college. Hey Trevor, you can't do that. You don't have that kind of talent.
he's playing the role that the rockets organization is telling him to. you can't blame him for doing what he is told.
Last few games really highlight how we miss that "go-to-guy" in the 4th. While team ball is great and all, it definitely helps to have one guy to bear the load. And sadly, TREVOR ARIZA IS NOT THAT GUY. I know it's fair to expect him to just automatically "be" that guy, but honestly, nearly half way through the season, I'm not sure if he'll EVER be that guy if you know what I mean. It's one thing to be lacking in the "killer instinct" dept which was many a clutchfans beef with Yao back in the day, but it's another thing to be lacking in just sheer skills, decision-making, and execution. And I'm sorry but, imho, Trevor Ariza has none of these qualities. Simply put: Can you see Trevor Ariza as a franchise player on ANY team? My thought it NO, and for that reason, why put the ball in his hands in the fourth and expect of him what we expect FROM a franchise player? The only real outcome of holding onto this expectation is further disappointment on the part of the team/fans and also, frustration on the part of Ariza. Ariza would do himself a MOUND of good by coming out and asking Adelman explicitly to be used more in a 6th man/role player role, which he is not only better suited for imho, but he'd perform BETTER imho. But unless he asks, I'm not sure Adelman will make the change as the Rox organization worked hard to get Ariza here and sell Ariza on minutes/opportunity/etc. bummedoutSAGE
Ruined the entire game tonight with his 2 boneheaded plays at the end of the half. Trade this bum already.
