The highest +/- was because he didn't play many minutes... LOL If you think tonight Budinger played harder than Tmac did, you are interesting... Actually, in your last post, you said "he also did not try to do too much" ...
If you don't understand the difference between trying to do too much and playing hard, than I am wasting my time trying to answer you, they are entirely different concepts. "Playing hard" means hustling all over the floor and playing within the system as a good team player. "Not trying to do too much" means staying within your abilities, and not attempting to do things you are not really good at..... DD
Exactly he is missing a lot of wide open jumpers. That is a big concern. Also nobody forces him to take dumb shots and this is not his first go around without playing for the Lakers. He played for the Magic and Knicks. Maybe there was a reason he didn't get consistent burn with those teams.
I never expected all that much, yet I think Trevor is detrimental to our team and this thread - or a mutation of it - is going to run for the duration of his contract or until he is traded. Some of us are trying to so hard to rationalize his game that we want to build a team that complements Trevor's incompetence. Yes, after we are patient, and acquire a superstar like Kobe, and ask Trevor to take a back seat...then, and only then, does he become the player that we thought we traded for. Who is really "naive"?
Ariza why why why why did you take that stupid three and not throw it down to Carl? You ****ing suck dammit two nights in a row that Im going to bed pissed off. Thank you trevor.
Ariza clearly has a green light to shoot it whenever he wants. This is not something that he decided himself, its what the coaches and management endorse. This year for the Rockets is a bit of a puzzle. I dont think they expected to win as many as they have or be as competitive as they have. In their eyes I think they wanted to use this year to develop their players so that when Yao and whoever replaces McGrady come in next year, everyone is that much better. The Ariza hate around the GARM is simple-minded, yet not unexpected. If anyone has actually played basketball you know that getting frustrated and even upset on the court is normal. Its an emotional game and it happens to everyone. The true problem with the Rockets is that we have 2 guys on the team who are simply dead weight offensively (Battier and Hayes). Dont expect too much this year out of our Rockets. Best case scenario is a first round loss. Hopefully Tmac garners us some real talent.
I'm beginning to hate this guy. At first I was skeptical. After the second Portland game I was optimistic. After that I was confused. Then worried. Shortly thereafter I became frustrated. Hopelessness followed. Hate remains.
nope, we have 3 guys....Battier and Hayes at least have some compensating skills....Ariza, the 3rd guy, really doesn't
The only thing Ariza does bad is that hes a high volume shooter and then maybe gambles too much on D. But the defensive gambles are more magnified because we have no shot blocking presence at all. The high volume shooting is something that management and coaches have all signed off on.
I really, Really, REALLY hope you are right and I am wrong. It also strikes some of us, though, that he is also bad at passing and bouncing the ball. Attitude issues are also surfacing. Ariza is just bad enough to bring out my paranoid-conspiracy fantasies...I'm wondering if he was sent to Houston by someone - and paid very well to do it - in order to sabotage us. Is he really this terrible? And why did no one see it beforehand?
Because he was never a starter until this season. He's always been a player coming off the bench all his career with limited minutes only until last year PO.
What? He is bad at dribbling He is bad at passing He is bad at shooting His attitude to his teamates has grown worse. He is bad at cutting to the basket off the ball Heck, I would like it if there was something I could feel comfortable pointing to that he was "GOOD" at. So far he is about the biggest dissappointment as a free agent signing since Mo Taylor. DD
Rafer Alston was never this bad. Even when he couldn't shoot, he still knew how to run the offense and did his darndest to make sure that the Rockets got the best of out of their offensive possessions. Which was why it was easier for me to forgive him for his shortcomings -- he may have been a terrible shooter, but he worked hard for this team and contributed in every other way to the best of his ability. I guess Trevor tries hard too -- except that he really isn't good at anything. More importantly, Rafer knew his role. You never saw Rafer getting frustrated because he didn't get the ball passed to him. If he had only 5 FGAs, it usually meant the Rockets had a good day and Rafer was happy. But even if we were to focus on the shooting alone, Rafer's innumerable teardrops still could not build the monstrous brick castle Trevor is constructing so far this season.
Ariza's dribble ...improved?? idk bout u guys, i feel more comfortable watchin him dribble now than before, hes not tryin to imitate tmac anymore n do that lazy up to the chest dribble..he is protecting the ball better with more moves like crossover n behind the back dribble, much better than when he tries to fake defenders by using in n out dribble every single time... it always amuses me how smooth tmacs dribble is compare to everyone else in the league, its so fun to watch when u see tmac makes his dribble so fancy n rarely gets stripped when drivin into the lane; n then u see lebron pounds the ball soo hard against the floor when he tries to drive inside anyway, back to ariza. i think he can be an effective scorer if he improves his lateral quickness or first step nn his freakin balance
