dam... that separation doe. he shook lerbon so bad that he went all the way back close to the baseline.
Russell problem is simple he doesn't realize that he's not play well and to rely on his teammates to carry him. MDA can also help him by coaching him more and reducing his minutes by 3 or 4 minutes. Why would a horrible 3 point shooter keep shooting 3s. The definition of insanity, doing the same thing and not getting results.
What we could have done is different than what we would have done. Russ's style of play forced the trade. CP3's did not. Capela was extremely valuable with CP3 because CP3 couldn't finish well near the rim...he had no lift, no explosiveness, and relied on short jumpers to score in the lane. The lib became a huge asset for him. Remember before CP3 (when we had Bev, Montrezl, Lou, etc.) This team played with crazy pace and ran the fast break all the time. CP3 changed all that because of his pace of play and ball dominance when he was on the court.
It is astonishing. Even Harden gets his due when he has a bad game here. Westbrook has a huge apologist club. Always has.
Westbrook should learn from Leborn, just use drive or slam dunk. Please dont try any jump shooting especially in 4th quarter
When a controversial trade happens it's usually the player that has the power to change perception. If you hate conversation about Westbrook more than what you witnessed last night, your priorities are confused!
The FO was talking about doing this trade even before the season started. We still needed Covington, we could have just gotten a small ball center.
There's no point in re-litigating a past that cannot be changed. The most ardent Westbrook supporters can see that his flaws are so big that it could hurt the team greatly. His biggest detractors can see that his pluses can help the team in unique ways. How can he minimize the former and maximize the latter to help this team win the series? That's what the discussion should be about moving forward... things like attacking with Harden from the post more to create WB cutting angles to complement the spacing.
Analytics has not yet advanced far enough to formulate a stat to express how bad Westbrook really is at basketball. Kills momentum, has entire quarters of brain fart basketball and he's a four point swing machine. We've all played with a ball player like him. Good for your team at times, great athlete and capable of making great plays, but very rarely will his ego let him adhere to a backseat role.
I'm genuinely curious if Russ has some kind of learning disability. We've spent all this time trying to coach him without addressing his inability to understand.
Only way I love Westbrick again is if we can land Lillard for him or Ingram and Lonzo Ball or even Philly for Embid.
Harden doesn't have a learning disability, but he is the laziest superstar in the history of the NBA. He wasn't always like this. His years in OKC and early years with the rockets, he was hungry.
Tilman Fertita has basically destroyed our team, its been straight downhill since he arrived. 3 key events -Being cheap and not bringing back Ariza -Trading Paul and a truckload of picks for Westbrook -Building around small ball since Westbrook can't play with a center. The first 2 are inexcusable. Just Tilman being an awful owner. I get #3, Morey trying his best to build around a losing player, but not having a center has absolutely wrecked us. There is no recovering from this. The Westbrook trade is has basically doomed us.
