Anyone have a gif of that airball from the FT line with 40 seconds left? That was a thing of beauty - came up like 5 feet short.
You can have perceived volatility with or without athleticism. The Lin comp is purely the feeling you get when watching a player on your team that you don't know what to expect. Everyone else on this team for the most part we know what to expect from them we know their faults, and at the end of the day it is easier to live with when they come up short since the right decisions are usually made. Historically with this team, its been easy to blame poor officiating or a lack of talent being the core reason for coming up short, with Russ it feels like you can choose to play as the 96' bulls, but may end up with a controller with the broken button and you wont know until you've started the game and just have to deal with it.
And this is what the Harden haters should be focused on, if not for this crazy hustle save, it would have been game over.
I have a serious question. Is Fertitta better off burning $40M every winter season for the next 3 years to help keep warm in the winter or paying Westbrook that money?
Terrible game. I’d rather have CP3, he would calm the team down and be the QB. Westbrook is out of control, and playing terribly. If he has a decent game, it’s 2-0..
Imagine if we had CP3 and all we needed from him as to shoot 3s and playmake when Harden isn't on the court. Literally, that's it...
This was one of the most disgusting performances I've seen, the total lack of IQ, self-awareness and defense by Russell Westbrook destroyed Houston's chances completely. Just by stopping playing defense completely after his 5th foul he gave away 3 lay-ups and a Rondo jumper from the FT-line.
Absolutely disgusting and abhorrent game from Russ. This is exactly why we all got giddy when we got faced up with OKC in the playoffs past years. The only reason I only feel 90% disgust at this game from Russ instead of 100% - is because it brings pain to Tilman that this is what he traded away Chris Paul for. That's some sweet karma for that sack of sh*T if i ever saw it.
No other way and probably the coach too that kept him the game when we had momentum. We gave this game away!
I'm in despair about this guy and the franchise. We mortgaged our future for a player who still, at this late date in his career, makes such poor decisions with the basketball. I was actually relieved when they called that fourth foul on him and he had to sit. He's not educable. He's not going to change. He makes such amazing plays, and then he squanders it all with bad decisions. He doesn't even look where he's throwing the ball. I love his heart and hustle and will. But without brains, it's all wasted. No team that relies this much on this player will win a championship.
Westbrook has to have a short leash the rest of the playoffs. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt like other stars. His wildness and low IQ is too destructive to the team at times. He has already lost two games for the Rox since coming back from injury.
Think of his brains... then think of Tilman's basketball brain. Then picture the latter, and where it'll lead this franchise. Despair is right... this is a train that's headed downhill fast. And there's no brakes.
Harden hurt his knee....they took him out real quick for precautionary reasons. The Lakers play dirty... just as dirty as OKC. We need to fight fire with fire. Not like a blatant flagrant foul but nut punch and move our feet and carefully place our legs where it can "slow" the opposing player. The Lakers are grabbing knocking knees and nut punching... it's how bad they want it. How bad do we want it?
It took a great block by Harden to drag his ass out of the first round or it would have been 4 years for him.
