I mean you said he would be projected to fall off by age 33. I'd say he would still be able to score 18-21 ppg 6 rpg and 6-8 apg. Will be that enough, I deem not but I do not think it will be a dramatic decline. As for his speed, he goes from the top 2 fastest to a top 30 fastest, decent enough. Give him another year, if nothing happens by then, Morey isn't going to build a contender.
I'm fairly certain I'm not a zombie or an ESPN hot-taker. You'll be hard pressed to find someone who hates ESPN (aka TMZ sports) as much as me. Sometimes long time posters don't like the games of certain players. This is a case of that. I think Russ is a phenomenal talent with an insanely erratic IQ. Do I think he can have a positive impact on the team? Sure, he played an awesome January. He had some very impressive rebounds in the Mavs and Bucks game. But can I make fun of him when he does insanely boneheaded James Ennis - meets - Jeremy Lin stuff? Yeah, it's gonna happen. He's not immune just because he makes $40M/year and we traded a HOF and 2 first rounders to get him. That just makes it more ironic in the moments when he becomes the worst parts of Steve Francis and Kelvin Cato.
Very solid. He does himself a lot of favors when he hits his FTs. His ability to generate FTs is really valuable. Gotta capitalize.
This thread is dumb as the harden thread. People have short memories or what?. Earlier in the season Russ was carrying us to win in la against both la teams when harden was playing through multiple injuries. Just a couple of days earlier he tore the heart out of the bucks chest in the clutch as well.
And how does that make us better? 2 scrubs and a young Capela type... Harden might as well demand a trade.
let’s see that raptor rating, VORP, and BPM since the Capela trade... how he does in his current environment is what matters
This trade ruined any hope for the Harden era and set the franchise back for years. Other than that it was great.
Since CC trade Offensive rating : 108 Defensive rating : 111 Offensive BPM : 1.2 Defensive BPM : -1.2 VORP: 1.6 Team net rating with RW on floor : +2.3 Teams net rating with Westbrook AND Harden : +6.9 Teams net rating with Westbrook NO Harden : -6.3 Any way you slice it Westbrook was overall bad this season. Post trade he was better but the impact stats are still terrible for a max player. And his inability to elevate non Harden lineups is a HUGE problem.
Westbrook has been my least favorite player in the NBA since Draymond started becoming irrelevant, I never felt he should have gotten that MVP over Harden. I have not mentioned how much this trade bothered me, because in the past when something bothered me to this level, I had been wrong (I did not believe MDA was a good coach, and he ended up being the perfect fit imo). With Westbrook he is just not an intelligent player, he is not likable at all off the court either, so it is hard to forgive the guy for mistakes, hes got an ego the size of the moon. I would casually bet nba games over the course of 15 years, and the Westbrook / PG OKC team is what really made me never want to even casually bet a game again. There is extreme volatility in his game, and you really never know what you will get, and that is the reason it is painful to watch him regardless if he is on your team and you are rooting for him or on the opponent and you're rooting against him. Westbrook gives me Jeremy Lin type uneasiness.
