Harden reminds me of Vinny "Microwave" Johnson. A pure scorer with no pretense of playing defense or even passing the ball unless double-teamed. Namely, a 6th man.
I remember how bloody thrilled I was about the off season and how I fed on the upbeat atmosphere here. If you read this forum right now everyone is rife for sale (including our stars). It's possible everyone physically regressed tremendously, but what are the chances?
No no I understand what you mean, there was optimism. But I seriously doubt that many fans on here thought we had the best team in the league. Mind you we all thought we were going to be a lot better than what we have been. Harden will retire a rocket
Allow me to be a tad carried away when they signed Lawson I have to admit I thought that would put us in the same class as GSW/Cavaliers. I was absolutely clueless for sure (and admittedly am still clueless as I haven't got a clue what's wrong beyond looking at a completely steerless team)
Unfortunately, this season can't be attributed to one factor, there have been several in play and when they add up its created the mess we have.
I think Haren stepped up the second half of the season. Still not as a fast and awesome as last season, but he escaped the Frauen tag at least
Right about what? Harden scored 13 of our 15 4th quarter points in a game we lost by 2 and he's the reason we lost? Cmon dude this team just sucks. Really cool to bump your own thread.... This team can't do anything but have harden bail them out and every team we play against knows this. Not even curry or lebron could do anything in this situation. All these guys got to make a play when he's getting all the attention and they just don't they freeze up and try and force him the ball 35 ft out with 7 seconds or less on the clock if he makes the shot it's lucky bs anyways it's bad bsketball and its on the coaches and players more than anything. They rely on harden way to much it's disgusting and has cost us easy 10-15 games this year.

For all he does well, I'm still not going to excuse him for his bad passes, bad posture, lazy defense, not switching properly, not fighting to get the ball but leaning on his man and just move around, letting at least 6-8 seconds pass to get the ball across the half-court line etc. Just look at the highlights and you see how he does not even go out on a Barea three, throws bad passes and those TOs...it's not solely on him, but he's the head wolf so gotta step up more James.
Wes smothered him yesterday, and Dirk hedged all the way past the arc to trap Harden. Traps are easy to beat, if you have anybody else worth a damn. Nobody else stepped up. Once a team traps you, if you get the ball out it's on the defense to play shorthanded until the extra man on the trap recovers. Dirk takes a long time to recover and regain position. At that point it's zipping the ball around to the open man. But what happens when nobody on the floor can hit a shot or make the right pass? Is that Harden's fault? Don't get me wrong, Harden didn't have a great game. Matthews had his number. But that 4th quarter was not on James.
that 4th quarter was a prime example of why they need to upgrade the backcourt if they want to win. we've seen it time and time again when teams trap harden like that. who else is able to make the right decision and make the correct play whether its scoring or not. It was just pathetic watching beverley's man trap harden and him going to the bucket to make a play only to dish it off to brewer. That's just horrible basketball
This season suggests you are right but I feel next season really is the proof in the pudding. We will see.
