Maldonado has a ton of heart. I've come around on how important he is to this team, especially in the playoffs. I still think Dusty played him too much at times, but I get it. He's been really important out there.
Ha. Haha. Hahaha. He’s a clown. He’s basically worthless. He’s got a 400 ops. He’s a turnstile back there. He can’t catch balls. His pitchers get lit up.
Mentors them to be selfish a holes where you don't sacrifice your own playing time for the good of the team?
Sabotaged the game by calling mashable fastballs over and over because he can't catch curveball/breaking balls anymore. Also let Rangers on base run a train on him.
FFS https://www.mlb.com/news/2023-24-mlb-free-agents-by-team Astros OF Michael Brantley, C Martín Maldonado, RHP Phil Maton, RHP Héctor Neris (player option), RHP Ryne Stanek The Astros found their catcher of the future in Yainer Diaz, but it's possible the club will look to re-sign Maldonado, whose defense behind the plate has been key to Houston's success in recent years. Brantley's situation is more uncertain after he played just 79 games over the past two seasons. With Maton, Neris and Stanek all eligible to test free agency, the Astros' bullpen could go through some turnover this offseason.
This is more a statement on the sorry state of sports media than most anything I’ve read. There is no research, no thoughtful discussion, just lazy-ass click gathering sluts.
These guys don't follow baseball. Moldy is worthless and shouldn't be anywhere near this team in the future.
