…not our problem (or whatever solution he may b for anyone elsee) anymore. Thanks? Yeah no thanks & sorry you came from one of the worst teams to one of the best teams and couldn’t keep up. Gonna need a PUBLIC STATEMENT / APOLOGY from Joffrey on this, as well as him stating he’s stepping away from the org for the unforeseeable future to “focus on himself”. edit: for the record, I’m about to be 43. Could've paid me 3% of that salary and I would’ve made sure I get on base being HBP if I wasn’t producing with the bat.
I don’t think organizational chemistry was a strong suit during the Click era; they won in spite of the tumult between Crane/Click/Baker. That’s not really a knock on Click, as it really stems from Crane’s unwillingness to fully delegate baseball operations to the GM. And while Crane is ultimate responsible/accountable, his approach is understandable considering how burned he felt from Luhnow’a tenure. Really curious to see the roster move since it can’t be Loperfido. Obvious choice is Kessinger but it seems like they could use another OF. Could see Leon added to the roster.
I may be misunderstanding you, but are you suggesting that anyone around the league would have a problem with the Astros releasing the worst player in the league while paying him 30 million dollars to not play for them anymore?
What's really sad is I think if he just trimmed that stupid ponytail goatee he'd start hitting again.
Bro… why the fck is Astros social media trying to push Jon singleton for allstar game. have they been watching same season as me? Lol
I was excited when Abreu was signed. I thought three years was the price of doing business with a still productive player. I thought the injury to his back hampered him and was encouraged by his run at the end of the year. The fall this year can now be viewed as confirmation that Father Time caught up with him and this move had to be made. I feel bad for him, but the team was fair to him and this had to be done.
