Jose Abreu not even trying a Upper Cut Home Run Swing, using his Legs. Jose looks Lazy Compared to Corey Julks, Jake Meyers All Out Swing using their Legs with Power.

    Huge Gap in Aggressiveness

Jose Abreu Problem in His Swing

His Legs, Not Loading Up with his Left Leg and Not Staying Back to Lift the Ball

If we hid our highest player on the 2017 roster from the lineup... why not Abreu this year?

Abreu is destroying the morale of this team. Send him to Sugarland until he hits. If he can’t hit there, no reason to play him in HOU. Eat the salary and move on.

Abreu with the trifecta of bad defense, hitting, base-running.

God damned good to see. If he hits 15 HR this season I think he will be worth his contract at least for this year.

This is where Abreu turns it around. His power is coming back.

Ever since the Oakland HR he's for the most part looked like he was gonna be productive. Of course he was so painfully atrocious before the first HR, whenever he has a bad stretch, or does anything wrong, it makes it seem like he's made no progress.

Over his last 50 BIP his exit velocity is up to 91 MPH (from 87), his hard hit% up to 50 (from 35), and launch angle up to 13 (from 8). Still not particularly confident he's gonna ever be the guy we hoped we were getting, but him even turning back into a league average bat would be gigantic leap from the low .500's OPS we've gotten to this point from 1B. Suddenly the path to 8 productive bats becomes very easy for us, even with Yordan out (if Dusty would ever treat Yainer Diaz and Chaz the way he should anyhow)
