Yeah, I was going to edit my post from "biased" to "unfair", but alas, we have no edit, and I decided to leave it be and avoid annoying JuanV with a new post explaining a change... Matthews is biased, but he does a great job at making his show fair. I like both Matthews and O'Reilly, but they are two totally different personalities. O'Reilly let's his opinion be known, and then he argues with the opposing guests. Matthews lets his guests argue amongst themselves, and he only lets his opinion be known at the end of the discussion. After watching Matthews for a few years now, I'd say about 30-40% of the time, he actually speaks in favor of conservative issues, so I don't see this "obvious" bias.
I agree, Band Geek. He's not biased towards liberal positions. He's just biased towards his own. I guess that's a different kind of bias. I would say Ted Koppel or Tim Russert are the "unbiased" type of journalist.
I'm surprised none of the Bill O'Reilly backers have commented on drapg's article about Bill O'Reilly playing very unfair with his guest. Bill isn't worth really arguing over, becaue I just can't take him seriously. He'll ask guests to show him where he's wrong, and when the respond he won't accept anything they have to say. It's actually humorous.
I was wondering that too. Perhaps their attention spans are too short to read it all.. if Bill isn't telling it to them, they're not intereted =]
You don't know what you're talking about, and you're way off base, but I'll let you have the last word.
That's probably the best imitation of someone as can be achieved online. I could almost here Bill's voice. That just lightened my whole mood. Thanks. That was great.
